No younger HMs in future CBBs?

Lets be honest no celeb under 30 will win C5 CBB. It's vote to save so HMs with long established careers and large fanbases have huge sway.

Julie at 70 was biggest character. 53 yr Julian looks set to storm to victory. 50yr Martin is second favourite. Even Lorenzo - about 10 yrs older than a HM on regular BB - could count as a younger HM compared to Julie Colleen Cheryl Martin and Julian. Mike and Harvey would have been the eldest chosen on normal BB.

Danica Jasmine and Rhian were swept aside.
Ash n Harvey look set for an early final exit. Any point in having HMs in CBB under 30something?

Younger HMs are always more dull, its all about love and crap with them.. the last 4 winners of Ch5s BBs have all been old, if not the oldest HM (Paddy, Aaron, Denise, LukeA)

Its good to have the younger ones in there especially if they have achieved real Celebrity, but I agree the vast majority of Celebs that make the final 3 or win are usually the older more established Stars.

I guess CBB generally attracts washed up celebs who are past their prime or trying to cling to their celebrity status, you don't get many people going in at the peak of their career (the Situation is probably one of the few exceptions to this) so it's gonna be quite rare to have a young housemate in there with a solid support base

Based on this hypothesis, why don't the producers realise that they'd have more interesting BB shows if they widened the age range there, too?

As posters have said, younger HMs tend to be dull, with little of interest to say and not much life experience.

Bring back older HMs.

Younger hm8 in both shows spoil it for me, more interested in themselves than entertaining us

Older HMs - personality

Younger HMs - showmances/ bromances

Younger housemates have to be exceptional to contribute anything but bodies and a romance. Unfortunately CBB doesn't attract "exceptional".

I have to agree with everyone on this thread, I think the older HM's are more intresting than the younger HM's I've always felt that way even when BB was on channel 4.

theres only 2 celebs in there julian and martin.
age doesn't matter the younger ones actually have a better chance of winning its all down to the person. the younger crowd in this one are nobodys unknowns not celebs at all.
and just arnt good enough to win anyway.
they need more famous ppl in these celeb ones. surely there is some holyoaks or other current soap stars who are young and fit the bill. rather than the unknowns this year

Plus it is a nice little or large earner for 'washed up celebs'. This means that they are likely to take part. Young real celebs would think twice about going in if they are already in demand.
