skodas non refund policy?

If you buy a part direct from skoda , who now own loads of garages that used to belong to other manufacturers, they wont give you a refund for a faulty part , even if its within the warranty unless

1) you take receipt to them personally
2)complete warranty form and take it there in person
3)if you cant drive your car as a result of the faulty part, you have to get your vehicle towed to a garage and get a specific diagnostic test done on it, with the specific 3 digit reading, you need to get that printed off and take it to skoda too
4) you also need to remove the part and take that in too

If you fail to get the specific read off from the diagnostic test , which my garage did, (nothing showed up on the machine , but the faulty part was found anyway) but they still wouldnt accept the mechanics written letter specifying that the fault was this part. so the car had to be towed to another garage and still no reading

all skoda offer is for you to get your car to their main dealer and they will do the work there on site. trouble is the main dealer is 14 miles away and the towing costs would be more than the part.

they claim this is their europe wide policy and they think its very fair

meanwhile Ive now got to buy the same part off them, that I bought 3 weeks ago, for over £100

Talk about ripped off, totally immoral but is their policy even legal?
