Pool parties for children have been given a twist - by adding alligators.

Bob Barrett from Tampa Bay, Florida is offering the new party service for £100.

He takes alligators to people's back garden pools so that their children can swim them.

Speaking to the Tampa Bay Times, Barrett said: "It just took off like wildfire. Everybody loves having the gator pool parties."

Barrett runs the local Alligator Attraction and came up with the new innovation during the summer when business was slow.

He said: "If you're 9, 10 or 11 years old, you've already had the 'jumparoo' house, the bounce house, you've had the pizza party, you've had the clown party.

"You get to have a pool party with a gator. It's a very popular party."

Barrett insists that the parties are safe as he tapes the alligators' mouths shut.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission confirmed that he isn't doing anything illegal, but added: "We will say that this is not something that we encourage."

Inevitably, one of the little angels will smuggle a pair of scissors into a pool ..... :shrug:

Reminds me of when I was at gatorland florida and my brother 'wrestled' an alligator. Poor thing was a baby, had its mouth taped, AND was pretty sedated. I went off it with my mam and dad for paying for the photo, and thus encouraging the cruelty :S

this is not uncommon in Florida at all, sad for the Alligators

Some people just deserve to be eaten by alligators.
