Has the X Factor become too scripted?

Must admit, still a fan (not as big a fan as i use to be) but i'm finding all the undoubted scripted (fix) nonsense a little off-putting. I agree it's an entertainment programme and for it to achieve it's purpose it obviously must entertain but it's fundamentally a singing contest, and the genuine talents (like Carolynne) should always progress.

People bang on about how Rylan is more entertaining, possibly to some, but there is nothing better than a natural singing voice booming to it's potential.

Katy Perry/Rhianna v Adele? Adele every time.

Of course it 's too scripted.. XF appeals, like all of mr Cowells shows, to the lowest form of intelligence. The Jeremy Kyle audience. These people arent interested in talent, they wouldnt know it if it got up and punched them, they just want to leave their brains at the door and indulge and enjoy in mindless entertainment. It doesnt matter if the singers good just as long as there are lots of flashing lights, bells and whistles to keep their couple of braincells ticking over. Cowell knows this and rather than give people quality his shows actively go the other way. They dumb down even when it seems we've reached the depths of dumbness. (Jedward being exhibit A). Its all very sad IMO that the public are so easily pleased and manipulated but Cowell never overestimates the taste of the public. He's made a career out of it. A part of me actually begrudgingly admires him. It takes a lot of balls to give people this cr*p year after year and get away with it.

Yeah it's definitely lost it's appeal, I used to love it back in the days of S2/3/4/5 but yeh it's got crap

I only watch The X Factor out of loyalty now, plus I love competitions and how the Forums boom when it's on.
