is dermots job safe?

could dermot get sacked anytime soon? i dont think there is anyone else out there that could fill his boots..... the only ones maybe would be ant and dec ...if they showed an interest then simon woukd hire them straight away

Glenn. 14-10-2012 02:33 PM

Isn't this the last X Factor? Or did I dream that?

Petershaw1984 14-10-2012 02:39 PM

if ant and dec took over the itd be around for 5 more years

Black Dagger 14-10-2012 02:40 PM

Hosts don't secure longevity in a show... ratings for BGT have been down even with Ant N Dec.

Dermot will be kept around.

Don't know what the appeal with Dermot is.

King Gizzard 14-10-2012 02:53 PM

Great presenter

Glenn. 14-10-2012 03:01 PM

He really annoys me. When he breathes in and makes a noise like a snake I want to pinch him in the face.

CharlieO 14-10-2012 03:02 PM

Dermot is the best male presenter imo. Idk what it is he is just really like real

Raph 14-10-2012 03:43 PM

Fantastic presenter so I don't see any risk for his job!

Jack_ 14-10-2012 04:27 PM

Hope so, he's one of the best things about the show IMO. He was really funny last night actually and his dancing is hilarious.

I did question how safe his job was for the first few years he had it but he's been doing it for so long now that I'd say it is 'his' show now and it would be too weird to have someone else doing it, and he suits the role. He also seems to have gained a lot of support this year and last, I don't think he was noticed much before but he often trends on Twitter now and a lot of the comments are positive. He's very down to earth, personable and controls the show well...and he can do tension well unlike some (hello Holly Willoughby).

I love Dermont! He's great. But i also like Ant and Dec.

Glenn. 14-10-2012 04:44 PM

I'm quite surprised a lot if people like him:conf:

He's really nice, friendly and can be very funny.

Glenn. 14-10-2012 04:45 PM

He's pure cringe

Kazanne 14-10-2012 04:46 PM

Dermot is the only one for the job,who doesn't want a Dermy cuddle, great presenter and gorgeous too.

Petershaw1984 14-10-2012 05:12 PM

good all round bloke

GypsyGoth 14-10-2012 06:06 PM

Dermot is one of the things the show has going for it.

Saph 14-10-2012 06:49 PM

I've never liked him.. but hes probably one of the only presenters nowadays that I can actually bare to watch.

Joan Rivers would make a good host

Marcus. 14-10-2012 06:52 PM

Hope not

Doogle 14-10-2012 06:52 PM

Great guy, no one else could do it justice. That role suits him perfectly now and he is what a lot of people will think of when you say X Factor.

Joelle. 14-10-2012 11:38 PM

He should stick to the dancing girls. It certainly beats the horrible heel spin and 'Your saturday night starts right here' cringefest he's been doing for the past 6 years :bored:

Jamie585 14-10-2012 11:51 PM

X factor without Dermot would just be X
