Double elimination on Sunday?

Found this on DS, taken from the ITV website:

The X Factor Results

Sunday 21st October on ITV1 from 8:00pm to 9:00pm

Another heart-breaking elimination. Following their performances, the finalists have a nail-biting day waiting to find out who stays and who goes. Then the tension in the studio is palpable as host Dermot O'Leary reveals the names of the acts that are through and those who are in the bottom three. Two acts have to fight for survival by singing to secure their place in the competition, as one act must leave. SUB
Well it was always either gonna be a double elimination or four in the final (a la 2010). What would you prefer and who might suffer as a result?

Yup, but instead they do it the week that my favourites are bound to flop  I bet Jade and Lucy will leave this week, just to piss me off.

Well MK1 are gone.

Kinda hope James does too so I have I can call it a day :p

Jamie585 15-10-2012 10:11 PM

Better not be!!

Kate! 15-10-2012 10:29 PM

It still only says one act has to leave though :conf:

I want as many of them gone as possible so we can move onto the next X Factor, I think that MK1 will be dead last in the votes, then a Kye and Rylan sing-off.

Bar Ella they all deserved to go this weekend. It was the worst live show I've seen for a long time and probably the worst final 12 they've ever had. If last year was supposed to be bad, this year just takes the biscuit.

Looking forward to 2013 when Mel B will come and solve all the problems.

Is this going to be a week where the person in last is automatically booted and then the two others in the bottom three have to sing for survival? That was so funny when The Risk were knocked out and it was Kitty v Johnny. A shame for The Risk, but you just knew something like that was coming that week.

So many of the acts this year are absolutely dreadful, I'm actually really glad of this double elimination, don't think I'll bother watching any more of the show though. I don't have a TV so I'm only watching it on YouTube as it is, can't even be bothered now that Melanie's gone, she was the only one I enjoyed watching.

Im giving it one more week and if none of District3, Rylan, Lucy, Christopher, James Arthur, or Jahmene go then I will quit watching.

Considering it still specifically says "two acts have to fight for survival by singing to secure their place in the competition, as one act must leave" I don't think people should read too much into the bottom three bit, probably either just a mistake or referring to how Dermot takes it down to 3 and then announces the last act through automatically

could be an 2 gone next week

he X Factor 2012 could see a double elimination this weekend, it’s been revealed..

Telly listings on the official ITV1 website say this Sunday night’s results show will see a bottom three, hinting that two acts may be leaving.

With 13 stars in the competition this series thanks to another wild card twist, it means that bosses will definitely have to get rid of an extra act some when during the series.

Double eliminations in the previous two years, when there’s been sixteen acts in the live shows, have seen the act with the fewest votes automatically sent home.

The next two acts with the fewest acts then battled it out in a sing off, with the judges deciding which one stays.

So far Carolynne Poole and Melanie Masson have both been eliminated, with both stars from Gary Barlow’s overs category.

And unfortunately for Gary, his Liverpudlian crooner Christopher Maloney is given an early quote of 3/1 to face the axe this time next week, sharing favouritism with deadlock survivors District 3 (3/1).

Ella’s remains the odds-on favourite for victory at 4/5, with her closest rival Jahmene given odds of 11/2.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “Another one strikes the dust for Gary and it’s not looking too rosy for his acts’ chances next week either.”
