Emmerdale funeral returnees
 

Emmerdale's residents bid a final farewell to Carl King next month as they gather for his funeral.

Carl's half-sister Scarlett Nicholls and his two children Thomas and Anya are among those who head back to the village for the sombre service, which takes place on November 1.

After struggling to write a eulogy for the occasion, Jimmy (Nick Miles) initially considers not attending at all - but everyone is relieved when he eventually appears and seems ready for what lies ahead.

As the hearse creeps through the village, a caring Scarlett (Kelsey-Beth Crossley) tries to be there for her family as she comforts Anya and tries to take Thomas's hand.

Soon afterwards, Jude begins the service in the church but it's clear that Thomas is struggling more than most, devastated by the knowledge that his father was murdered.

Cynical over Jude's words and upset by Jimmy's eulogy, Thomas shocks everyone with an outburst in the church and then leaves. Can he be convinced to come back and pay his last respects to his dad?

I quite liked Scarlett. When is Bernice due back?

Yeah me too, I hope she does come back proper some day, not too sure when Bernice is due back, soon hopefully. It'd be quite good if Thomas and Anya stayed in Emmerdale now that we're running low on Kings, lol

Just looked back at the last time they were in the show, Thomas has grown (and looks a lot more like Carl now xD)

It seems quite likely that Thomas might stick around for a bit, at least I hope so, he could be someone new for Jimmy to work with, and teach.

He's grown a lot hasn't he? It wasn't that long ago he was in the show and was about 12 or something?

That will be interesting. I wonder how they find out? Will Chas be released on bail and storm the church? :laugh:

Scarlett should be back for good IMO. I liked her character and she was liked by viewers at the time but had her fair share of detractors too, plus it would be nice for Jimmy to have a King connection back in the village now Carl is dead.

It can only be a couple of years since they were last seen (if that) but they appear to be about 18 now?! :joker:

Have just checked & they last appeared on Christmas Eve 2010, at Carl's 'wedding' to Chas, so in less than 2 years they have aint half grown!

well at least they have not caught the EE disease where people go away and come back diffrent aka lucy beal.
