Potter characters from book to film
My opinion from what I imagined them like in the books and how they turned out in film...
Harry - Meant to have jet black hair and 'brilliant' green eyes. Radcliffe has brown hair and blue eyes. Ron - Supposed to be really really tall and sort of gangly (sp) Rupert always looks quite short in the films Hermionie - Think they got her pretty well, apart from she has goofy teeth in the first few books. Got very pretty very fast in the films. Snape - Think they got him pretty much spot in although always imagined him thinner Bellatrix - Pretty much perfect, a lot like how I imagined her. Sirius - Hmmm, love Oldman as an actor but really not how I imagined him in the books. McGonagal - Quite spot on I thought really, although she's a bit more dramatic in the books, but those bits were always left out of the movies. Malfoy - Pretty good casting but not really sinister enough, looks wise is pretty much spot on though Will try think of more later. |
i imagined Proffessor Umbridge way different, but i thought richard harris as dumbledore was pretty much excactly what i imagined

I saw the films before I read the books, so when reading the books I always imagined the characters to look like the actors. Wish I had done it the other way round :(

Bad Vicky :nono:

I pretty much agree but im always so critical of the films because how much they leave out and get wrong pisses me off.
|
Was gonna do Dumbledore but it's a bit hard with the swich over with the actors. Though I remember in one of the films he comes across as a grumpy old man which is horribly wrong.
|
Harris was not a good Dumbledore, Gambon was better but still was too heavy handed
|
Hermione's hair wasn't frizzy enough and her teeth weren't big enough
Ron didn't have a long nose or enough freckles Harry was fine besides the eye colours Sirius was totally different to how I imagined Actually everyone from the age range-Lupin, Sirius, Lily and James are wayyyy too old, they're only meant to be in their 30's Umbridge was totally different to how I imagined And that's all I can currently think of. |
Everyone's pretty much the same, except Daniel Radcliffe is terrible, and Richard Harris >>>>>> Michael Gambon
Richard Harris WAS the Dumbledore I imagined |

The guys that played the Twins are pretty terrible and nothing like I imagined them as well, the twins were mischievous and witty but in the films it was just poorly acted
Think they just casted the first ginger twins they found, not realising they'd have to stick with these all the way through Just like Daniel Radcliffe |
the boy who played young voldemort was good imo
|
Yeah the Weasley twins in the book are 100x better. Never took to the film ones at all. They seem quite cool in the books whereas in the films they seem a bit dorky
|
Percy is probably the best book to film weasly
him and Molly Arthur is nothing how I imagine |
I'd say they got Neville quite well in the early films. But then some of his lines and parts were totally changed in the later ones and it wasn't him at all.
|
yeah they tried to get him to be too much of a lovable cool geek by the end
|
ooooo and Hagrid was pretty much how I imagined him

Neville is terrible in the books and the movies
|
oh and the fourth film the characters looked nothing at all like what i imagined them in the book cause they all had hair longer than the girls! ( Harry, Ron, The twins :idc: )
|
Ginny was far too posh for someone grown up in a house of 3949 and in the middle of nowhere
can't act to save her life either |
Ginny is also very plain in the films. I imagined her really pretty in the books.

and I agree with shaun, I don't like her much in the books or the film |
Mad Eye Moody was quite spot on I'd say, although think he's meant to look a little more disfigured in the books.
