Will The Days Of 'Rock' Music Storming The Charts Return?
I have a feeling that 'indie-rock/rock' could eventually. Long gone are the days of bands like The Beatles, Queen, even Oasis scoring number 1 hits, but what with bands such as The Vaccines, Arctic Monkeys etc still popular, I believe (and pray) that it can happen again one day.

I doubt it. The most successful artist this year was a fat korean bloke doing electronic dance music. Something tells me the industry isn't gonna be looking towards rock any time soon. Even rap music has turned very electronic dance. Almost all of the rap artists are now using electronic dance music in their songs. Maroon 5 is doing well, they are technically a rock band, but they are making dance music.
Dance music seems to be where the industry is going. |
It's sad but no...With one or two exceptions music is now the worst ever, a hideous mutant of different styles and genres.

Bring back the days of 2006 I say

most people dont have a clue about music, and will take whatever the money making media executive's give them, at the moment the mainstream music is not about music, it's about image, and like i said them who cant think for themself's are lapping it up and saying thing's like omg it's amazing.
also young lad's think their cool gangster's if they like crap sorry rap, that's also not music, it's somebody playing someone else's tune and talking over the top of it. there's still guitar based band's all over, their just not getting any exposure. |
Well said wannashag

Probably not. Chart music just seems to be delving deeper and deeper into electronic music and all the various styles within it.

im not slating chart music, i do enjoy quite a bit of it tbf but as wannashag pointed out, some great bands just dont have the deserved exposure whilst some twat talking on top of an 80's track is no.1
