I'm sensing a boyband bottom two next week

I've been thinking it through a bit and I don't think this is entirely inconceivable. Ella, James and Jahmene (the golden trio) are safe regardless of what happens, Rylan I think is now destined for 6th place as he'll have the rebound vote next week, and so what it all boils down to is the real strength of Chris' popularity, which I do think we may be underestimating. I don't see him winning but there have now been numerous occasions where he should and could've been in the bottom two and he hasn't. If he survives next week which I do think is possible then both boybands could land in the bottom two as a result of fan complacency, poor performances, split vote and lack of support in comparison to other finalists.

The most interesting question is what it would result in. I'd sense a deadlock but which way would Louis vote (if at all) and would they go to him last for maximum drama? I'd prefer all this not to happen but I just get a sense this could be what's impending.

I agree with you, I think District 3 vs Union J is on the cards with District 3 going home - the judges have already started painting them as the lesser of the two boybands by slating their (far more exciting, IMO) performances week in week out. I think Rylan v Union J would then be the following week with Rylan going home; Chris finishing 5th and then Union J 4th.

I'd imagine the other 3 judges would end up in a 2-1 scenario rather than a 3-0 one, and Louis would make it 2-2

Not without a whole load of drama and 'I don't want to do this' wails though you'd think. Unless he pulled a Kelly/Cheryl and abstained from voting doing more harm to one of his acts than none at all?

Wasn't it Kelly last year that refused to vote when it was clear if she took it to deadlock it would be the easiest option, and so instead one of them went home on a 2-1 majority. Would Louis be dumb enough to make the same mistake? That's assuming he votes last.

I'd be elated with this.

Although I don't think Rylan has enough left in him for yet another rebound.

Although I was surprised this didn't happen to a greater extent and that they went to him first.

Conzors 11-11-2012 11:02 PM

How did you know this

Jack_ 11-11-2012 11:14 PM

Rylan had the rebound vote, I think we're all underestimating Chris' popularity and Ella, James and Jahmene are never going to be bottom two (well, you'd think not).

That combined with the boybands splitting the vote/fan complacency led to tonight's result. Have to admit after last night's show and both of them putting in good performances I was questioning whether this'd still happen, but I still had a feeling earlier today that this could have been imminent. And I think that's why Dermot called a break mid-results for the first time ever, because everyone knew this was such a big result between the three left and I think it would've been less of a shock had Chris not gone through after all that excessive tension building.

Mind you I have started to question next week's result already now. If Union J get the rebound vote and Chris and Rylan end up in the bottom two, surely Rylan will be saved again? That could then send him into fourth place with Union J in fifth...imagine that :o

It's a sad state of affairs that we can predict the results literally the week before it happens.

Christopher will hit the bottom two with Ella next week with even Gary being torn on saving him but still saving him anyway, but the others vote him out 3-1.
