Claims are flying around the internet that two new parents have reportedly named their new baby girl 'Hashtag'.

A picture of the newborn was posted on Facebook last Saturday afternoon (November 24), announcing her name which was apparently inspired by social networking website Twitter.

One parent said: "Hashtag Jameson was born at 10 oclock last nite.

"She weys 8pounds and I luv her so much."

News of the baby's name has spread over the internet, with many questioning if it is a hoax or a joke.

It's true apparently,it was on Daybreak today and apparently a couple have called their baby 'Facebook' in Japan !!!!!! Bloody idiots.

I actually think Hashtag is quite a nice name. And I'm being serious. It...sounds right. That doesn't make sense but it does to me :laugh:
