I’M A CELEBRITY finalist Ashley Roberts will use her amazing jungle success to launch a TV career in the UK, setting her sights on a job on The X Factor.

The former Pussycat Doll has proved a huge hit with the British public, storming into last night’s final after starting the show as a 40-1 rank outsider.

And her incredible performance in the jungle means she can now move to the UK and establish a screen career to rival former bandmate Nicole Scherzinger’s.

Ashley’s closest friend, musician Bobby Newberry, was in Australia last night to welcome the 31-year-old American as she left the jungle after 22 gruelling days.

He told the *Sunday Mirror Ashley wants a slot on the UK’s X Factor after missing out on a presenter’s role on the US version of the show.

Bobby said: “Ashley would love to move to the UK and make a career there, and I think that’ll be her next move.

“She’s on a path ...she would love to do television presenting. She just missed out on a job at the X Factor USA, hosting the show and I know she was very keen to do that. If she got the opportunity to work on the UK show, she would do that in a heartbeat.

“The UK loves her and they want more of her, so this isn’t the end of her on *television screens in the UK.

“She’s a hugely talented person. Music has always been her passion and she actually has a new track out now. But she could easily turn her hand to presenting. She has told me she would love to do acting as well. Ashley’s a free spirit and she would go wherever she needed to go.”

And Ashley has another reason to up sticks and move from Los Angeles to London... she’s on the look out for a man with a British accent.

The star – who was linked to two Australian men earlier this year – said: “I’m a single lady and I like good-looking, fun men. I don’t think I have a specific type. I like confident guys with a sense of humour. I like all that good stuff. And British accents are always a winner.”

Bobby has been best friends with Ashley for the past 10 years after meeting her during her days in the Pussycat Dolls.

The singer, from Phoenix, Arizona, asked Bobby to go to Australia to support her rather than members of her family because of her strained relationship with them.

Ashley, who has won an army of male fans with her sizzling shower scenes, certainly believes her appearance on the show, which was seen by around 12 million viewers last night, will help her to take her career to the next level.

She said: “I’m excited that people will get to know me as Ashley Roberts and not just a Pussycat Doll. I don’t think the UK had any idea who I was as an individual, so it’s pretty crazy that people have been picking up the phone and voting for me.”
Go, girl ..... :flowers:

Awesome news:). She is such a lovely person and will do well over here because in the USA entertainment/music industry it is obviously more cut throat.

I think she would be great at a presenting job, she has just the right type of personality to pull it off. Maybe even a Parky type show interviewing others :D

It seems the Dolls are all more successful over here, they get lost amongst the thousands of clones in America.
