"Overdrawn student killed himself over just £8,000 of debt and left a suicide note written on the back of a letter from his BANK
Computer whizz Toby Thorn's final words read: 'Thank you to all my friends I appreciate your support, Later ANON' He was £3,000 overdrawn and had a £5,000 student loan to pay off His mother is determined that no other young men or women will suffer in silence in the face of mounting financial pressure Anne Thorn has become a trustee for the charity PAPYRUS - the Prevention of Young Suicide." This is very Sad. This is honestly so sad :(
|
That's sad that is, but the Tory's won't care as the victims seem to be the evil ones to them.
|
What!?
I'm about 20k in debt and some of my friends were 2.5k in overdraft, they just worked for the summer |

so no need to get you bat out |
Whichever party it was they are a disgrace and both parties are heartless bastards that only seem to care about themselves and the criminals.
|
Sad story, but there're thousands more in direr circumstances :( I suspect there were other problems in his life. R.I.P.

This is really sad. Suicide is not the way to go.

Yes he must have kept the worry himself Proper help is there, its real sad. His mother had no idea of his true feelings. |

Must have had a really bad week or month and just did it. |

Yes could well be, but writing his death note on a bank statement puts it into this direction |
Poor lad, I would be interested to know if the suicide rate has risen for 18-25yr olds this year.

Absolute tragedy.
Such a waste over something easily solved. I agree, there was probably some other problems that may have put him in a deep depression about life. It's a shame when people feel there's no light at the end of the tunnel, must be so frightening. |

Poor man you have to feel for him and his family. Its hard being a young person these days. the airwaves worship money and materialistic goods and yet as a young person all you have is pressure , career decisions, peer pressure, 20% unemployment across europe, binge drinking, drug taking and huge debts. The best advice Id give young students is to try not to worry about debt as they dont need to pay it off until they graduate in most cases. and to really try and enjoy their time studying , its precious time as once you leave uni , most people tend to specialize in 1 thing and repeat that same thing every year. at least in uni youre learning something new and trying new challenges daily. Very sad story this, rip my friend.

RIP....such a sad story and a waste... His life was just beginning, I agree that there could have been some more deep rooted problems as compared to many, his debt crisis didn't seem too bad..... Thoughts are with his family an friends too...
|
we all deal with problem's and pressure in different ways,
for some its just too much to cope with. |

A very sad story though. I think there was probably much more to his unhappiness than £8000 worth of debt. |
people should really think these things over beforehand because sometimes the outcome is just not worth it at all, you make a success out of your life without going to Uni and you won't get yourself into a Mess that can ruin the rest of your life
|
I agree there would likely be other factors in his life that also helped tip him over the edge as to this.
Really sad, awful for his family and friends left behind but the saddest thing of all, no matter what all the reasons may have been, is that he felt unable to talk to or confide in anyone about it and his feelings. That is awful. |
That is so sad :( poor bloke, probably was too scared to ask for some help and just did 't see another way. Such a waste of a life. R.I.P

I really worry about the massive debts that graduates will have in the future, and the immense stress that will bring to 1000's of young people. |
My terms and conditions stipulate that I don't pay anything until I am earning over £20k pa. Then, depending on the amount, a specific repayment plan is calculated.
So did this guy get a dodgy loan? Seems strange to me that he was hounded for repayments when he's not even graduated. |
