Would you ever do a great white shark cage dive?

I'm going to enquire about one when I'm down in Invercargill at Christmas. I probably won't be able to do one at that time, but I'm going to look into doing one in the next couple of months.

no

Benjamin 16-12-2012 03:28 AM

Really? Are you not intrigued by them?

King Gizzard 16-12-2012 03:30 AM

more **** scared of it breaking like in jaws

Benjamin 16-12-2012 03:33 AM

Does that often happen?

King Gizzard 16-12-2012 03:34 AM

I have no idea but it's still a great white shark :(

Benjamin 16-12-2012 03:35 AM

More people are killed by a falling coconut than by great whites though.

King Gizzard 16-12-2012 03:36 AM

doesn't help the situation it's still scary as ****

Ammi 16-12-2012 04:14 AM

..LOL..why Ben..???..why would you even want to be close to anything with such big teeth you loony....

SharkAttack 16-12-2012 07:17 AM

Had two shark attacks here this year. I would say putting yourself in a cage *for* the shark is you being the bait. There are other ways to get thrills...like jumping from a high height from a bungy. Try something else. http://i395.photobucket.com/albums/p...tial/laugh.gif

That being said, if you ever have the desire for thrilling scuba diving and are near the Andaman Islands, I have a good friend who owns a diving school(for beginners or experts) who can teach you the ropes. Bastard's motto is "Why didn't you just stab it with your dive knife?" in response to a diver coming within close perimeter of a Great White. http://i395.photobucket.com/albums/p...ntial/wink.gif

Good luck, Ben, but don't do it. http://i395.photobucket.com/albums/p...al/wavecry.gif

Because they are such fascinating creatures. Sure it'll be scary, but just to see them at close range would be amazing. I've heard some people do a great white shark dive without a cage.

Go for it. It looks amazing, and it's completely safe. Just to see the size, power, and grace of an animal like that, up close and personal, would be an experience of a lifetime.

Shark: "I think Ben coming out would be a meal to be experienced once in my lifetime, as well. ...*with* him, damnit, not him as the main course, you tyrants!"

You know sharks haven't really changed in millions of years, which may help him when dealing with Niamh and Ammi.

Ammi 16-12-2012 08:47 AM

.....:suspect:

Marc 16-12-2012 08:50 AM

Yes and I would do it without the cage

Ammi 16-12-2012 08:51 AM

I'd take my chances with the coconut, how's that for brave.

We're all right behind you Marc, on the shore.

Ammi 16-12-2012 08:57 AM

..coconuts can't eat you either Cherie..and so long as you don't sit under a coconut tree, you're probably reasonably safe...

joeysteele 16-12-2012 08:58 AM

No for me, that would be asking me to do too much. Good luck with it though if you go ahead.

I was planning on sitting opposite the coconut tree Ammi, I'm not a risk taker!

...good thinking Cherie...I wasn't planning to even be on the shore..I'll watch it all on youtube or something..nice and safe in my house...

Benjamin 16-12-2012 09:43 AM

Unless your house bursts into flames or you trip and the mouse wire from your computer wraps around your neck and you choke...

Ammi 16-12-2012 12:49 PM

....There's a lot of thought/detail in that post Ben...I'm feeling a bit worried...
