UK £5 Note to become made of Plastic

"Is this the end of paper banknotes? Plastic version
could be in your pocket in just three years
Overhaul could see environmentally-friendly
notes introduced from 2015
Have proved a success since being introduced
in Australia in 1988
Plastic lasts much longer and are more
hygienic but more expensive to make"

wouldn't thin plastic cut your fingers?

Marc 17-12-2012 09:21 AM

I'll cut your fingers in a minute Saph :nono:

I think plastic would be better because some of the notes are so old and torn :yuk: I never like giving them to customers as change

But Josy the Five Pound Note
wears out in just 6months use.

The New Plastic Five Pound note will last
3 to 4 years

That is Not Stupid

Josy 17-12-2012 07:41 PM

But we wont be able to fold it, or fit into a small purse/wallet when we don't want to carry huge ones.

That is stupid

You are Wrong you can Fold It
its a New Type of Plastic.

So Its Not Stupid

ONLY for fives? Seems a bit strange. I'd like it if it was for all notes, but then again I think cash should be abolished and use cards only.
