What role did you play in your school nativity?...
..and do you remember what lines you had to say..?
|
I was always one of the three kings, the one with the gold obviously. I ain't no cheap bitch.
|
9 times out of 10 I was Joseph and the other time I was was King Herrod in some funky adaptiaton where he was the main character. Clearly born to play the main roles~

I was the shouty narrator one year and the star of the show.......a tree!!!! It took a lot of acting to pull that off and look all tree like

In Nursery, I was the star of the show (Angel Gabriel tbh) I stood up in front of everyone whilst the peasants would sit down and look at me.
The following year the kid who was meant to be one of the three kings was ill so I got to be one, but we only had one night so Mum and I went to Burger King and she spent the whole night turning the Burger King crown I got into this amazing looking crown for me to wear. |
I was always Joseph, wasn't happy unless all eyes were on me.
|
We didn't have a nativity at my school. Instead each class did random "Christmas" assemblies, like in year 4 we did a dance to Madonna - Holiday :conf2:

One of the Three Kings and a donkey.

king herod

A ****ing tree. Went to one rehearsal where we did some hippy swinging arms in the air dance then I went on holiday. Came home for the performance only to figure out ON stage that the dance had been changed to a simple sway side to side.
TL:DR I danced like a tree on ecstasy. |
I was Mary in montessori and an innkeeper in primary school.
|
In the year 2 nativity I was picked to play Joseph and I had no idea why because I am incredibly quiet, that decision still confuses me to this day. :joker: we performed it in church and I had to walk down the aisle with Mary and another boy dressed as a donkey - he was wearing a lead and I had to pull him along with me while the entire audience took photos of us. I hated it. :p
|
At my infant school I remember playing a Shepard. Although at my junior school I auditioned to be a part of the play and got rejected. I cried all the way through the performance at my local church!
|
I always preferred to play myself, but artistic differences with the director darling, meant that my motivation was often overlooked.
