All hail to the Gods of consumerism, as we prepare to celebrate the annual orgy of gluttony and shopping spare a thought for the small proportion of people who have completely lost the Christmas message. They deliberately avoid celebrating the commercial spending orgy well all love, and they avoid the 7 days of over indulgence with food and alcohol.
Yes these people have a strange view of this time of year where they prefer to congregate in large buildings and sings songs of praise to a Deity. They do not over indulge in food alcohol or presents. In fact this small dangerous offshoot actually actively promote a simple spiritual type of Christmas with small modest presents and relatively modest Christmas Fayre. We must all resist this dangerous sect and not let them take our beloved Christmas festival and turn it into a strange religious celebration. Spread the word, keep the Capitalist faith and give our Wallets, Purses and Credit Cards the freedom they deserve....!!!! |
Christmas is all about spending some quality time with your family.

It is really rich for the Churches to moan at loss of community and family togetherness.
The message is a good one but the actions of the Churches is full of hypocrisy. Midnight mass can now be celebrated at 8pm or thereabouts, this gives the Clergy much more relaxation time though. Services sre dropping like dead flies from Churches so people get together less in Church. The churches are 'locked' near all day and only open for services, the Clergy and Churches now desire people to contribute to their Churches via direct debit arrangements, this means in fact. people don't need to go to Church as much and the Church saves on communion breads and wine too. Then they have the audacity to criticise people for turning away from traditions and togetherness. They badly need to look inward at themselves not attack outwardly other people for what they do, since after the services are over all people are in effect locked out of Church. |
