X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014)

I know this is ridiculously early but I'm so excited about this film :joker: It's basically the sequel to X-Men First Class

Bryan Singer, director, has announced that James McAvoy (Prof X), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Nicolas Hoult (Hank/Beast) will all be reprising their First Class roles. He's also told us that Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen will be playing their respective roles as the older versions of the characters played by McAvoy and Fassbender but neither actor has officially signed on to the film, although both have expressed enthusiasm about doing so.

Also been confirmed is Hugh Jackman (Wolverine) and it's that Halle Berry (Storm), James Marsden (Cyclops), Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler) and Daniel Cudmore (Colossus) will return too.

Filming is expected to start soon, after Lawrence has finished filming the sequel to Hunger Games, Catching Fire in January. So this X-Men film wont be out until 2014, but how amazing will this film be  I'm very excited

Shaun 29-12-2012 11:55 AM

oooh, so it's basically a best-of

I do wish they'd get around to featuring Psylocke and Jubilee properly.

Marc 29-12-2012 12:06 PM

Rumours of the plot include being set in the 70s, possibly being based around the Civil Rights movement or the Cold War  imagine the amazingness of it all.

Also theres a 3-movie contract so another amazing film after this one

Game Of Thrones actor Peter Dinklage has joined the cast of X-Men: Days Of Future Past.

Director Bryan Singer confirmed on Twitter this morning (February 14) that the award-winning actor will appear in the up-coming sequel to 2011's X-Men: First Class, but he did not reveal what character Dinklage will play.

Singer tweeted:

Bryan Singer ✔ @BryanSinger
Officially like to welcome #PeterDinklage from #GameOfThrones to #XMEN #DaysofFuturePast Very very excited!
2:51 AM - 14 Feb 13

Bryan Singer has previously confirmed that Hugh Jackman's Wolverine will play a part in Days Of Future Past. Back in November (2012), he made a more unexpected casting announcement on Twitter, revealing the film has roles for X-Men veterans Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen - as well as current stars James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender.

However, Patrick Stewart has since claimed "Bryan let the cat out of the bag on Twitter". Speaking in December (2012), he said: "I know nothing about this project. [But] I'm hoping that might change in the future."

One character who is unlikely to make an appearance in the new movie is Emma Frost, who is played by Mad Men actress January Jones. When asked about the sequel by Collider, she replied: "I don't know that I'm in it, I don't think Emma's in this one. Well they haven't told me if I am! I wouldn't put it past them though - I got the script for the first one on the airplane on the way there."

X-Men: Days Of Future Past is due to begin shooting this April (2013).

Also Anna Paquin (Rogue), Ellen Page (Shadowcat in XIII), Shawn Ashmore (Iceman) are expected to reprise their roles.

XIII wasn't that bad imo, although it did have it's problems. This will be based on the comic arc used for two issues in the 1980s Uncanny Xmen.

Just saw first class awesome movie. Excited for this crossover if you could call it that.

Kevin Bacon was great, but it sucked that they had Sebastian Shaw (the Black King) and the Hellfire Club, but they didn't have Emma as the White Queen of the Hellfire Club, she was so wasted in X-Men first class. I wanted to see the Hellfire Club represented properly.

Unfortunately it seems that the movies don't give a CRAP about the comics or the original story lines, but still, like i said, i'll take any X-Men i can get.

Flight (2012)

Great reviews, but so over the top that incredulity was not just strained but broken ..... :hmph:

The mid-air crisis and subsequent crash-landing was very realistic, tho scarcely believeable, but later on when the pilot's alcohol level was "revealed" as 0.24 my jaw dropped to the floor ..... :amazed:

I was married to an alcoholic and I know that alcoholics can function on extraordinary levels of alcohol, but a BAC of 0.18-0.25 would mean the pilot would be disoriented, confused, dizzy, and have exaggerated emotional states.

Vision would be disturbed, as would be perception of colour, form, motion, and dimensions.

The pilot would have an increased pain threshold and a lack of muscular coordination.

The pilot would stagger or lose the ability to walk and have slurred speech.

Apathy and lethargy wouid be typical.

The pilot couldn't even drive a car let alone fly a plane.

I let the movie roll on, but when the pilot restarted drinking (and driving with a quart of vodka and beer chasers) I lost interest on this OTT time-waster ..... :bored:

I'd be surprised if Jubilee was ever included in the films beyond a cameo, she's generally quite unpopular. But yes, bring Psylocke into it.

Oh and Gambit (Wolverine never happened).

Do you know the difference between films and documentaries?

I reckon he'll be playing Apocalypse, I've heard that his role features a lot of CGI.

And also i love how close friends Prof. X and Magneto are in real life, the actors i mean, it adds a special dimension to the relationship on film. because in the comics they really do love and respect each other down deep, and the fact that the actors do too is cool.

Patrick Stewart and Ian Mckellan really are perfect casting for those two characters , and i'm so glad that unlike Spider-man and Batman they are sticking with the original actors in the X-Men franchise.
