Christopher Eccleston was the best of the new doctors IMO. Lost interest when David took over and never seen this new guy...

To be honest, Good. I never rated him as much as some seemed to. I think although the shows themselves are not DR Whoish much any more, and the stories verge on the most nonsensial even for Dr Who, I still find it watchable for now. The latest Dr is one of the best of the later ones, imo, as he seems to incorporate some of the best earlier DR's characteristics in with his own.

I like Matt Smith, David Tennant was great, but the show itself has actually improved since then (they stopped bringing back characters constantly).

GypsyGoth 02-01-2013 01:01 AM

I never watched it when David was the Doctor, apart from the last ep he was in, I think because of the hype around it.

Now it's easily one of my fave shows

There's three things that put me off series 5/6

- Amy Pond - I just didnt really like her, there was no development to her character
- River Song - I've never liked her much, but series 6 took the mickey with the amount she was used, I'm hoping she makes her final appearance soon.
- The silly silence story arc - Doctor Who is a good show because it doesnt get too tangled up with serialised story arcs, I hated how most of series 6 was based around that.

Series 7 has been great so far, and we're entering a new era now too, the look of next series reminds me of some Tennant era stories too. I can see why some people were put off by S5/6.

I struggle with Series 5 if I'm honest. It took me a long time to get used to Amy. She wasn't a great actress back then, she improved towards the end. My favourite story of Amy's was The Girl Who Waited where she gets stuck in an accelerated timeline.

I think Steven Moffat has realised he doesn't need numerous major arcs over a series. They got a little ridiculus in S6 with Melody/River etc etc

I think back to 2005 and the arc was two words, Bad Wolf and even series 2 with just the one word, Torchwood.

I loved David Tennant, I thought he was amazing. Although I started watching Who in 2005, David is my Doctor.

Matt Smith is incredible though :worship:
