They ARE big in the US in my opinion.

reece(: 03-01-2013 10:40 PM

They're pretty high up there.
for once Brian was telling the truth.

AndrewLee*** 03-01-2013 10:41 PM

yeah, EVERYONE knows them and EVERYONE hates them.

Roy Mars III 03-01-2013 10:42 PM

not so much as a few years ago but they are still pretty well known

rk3388 03-01-2013 10:43 PM

Not only america but everyone knows them in canada- mostly for bad things but more love to hate type thing not just hate aha

Saph 03-01-2013 10:43 PM

They're well known to anyone under 30 (or anyone who watched the hills)

newsbb 03-01-2013 10:44 PM

they are pretty well known tbh

InOne 03-01-2013 10:59 PM

I'm from The Bronx and never heard of them.

Lwize 04-01-2013 01:38 AM

I've never seen The Hills, but was sadly aware of Heidi's existence.
Certainly D-listers right now. I would have rather seen Lindsay Lohan go in for the trainwreck.

BBfanUSA 04-01-2013 01:40 AM

I know them, and I hate Spencer and kinda for Heidi. The Hills was basically a US TOWIE except they didn't live under the same roof.

MTVN 04-01-2013 02:04 AM

They are big yeah, it's kinda interesting that while the British celebs that have appeared on C5 CBB have been the usual array of soap stars, models, washed up actors etc. they've actually had some pretty impressive big American names in there with Madsen, Sitch & now Speidi

..you need to get in off the streets and watch more TV then...

King Gizzard 04-01-2013 03:57 AM

Huge in the world of Reality TV, big coup for the show regardless of if people like them or not

AnnieK 04-01-2013 04:56 AM

I know them from the Hills and couldn't stand Spencer, just an arrogant, lazy, controlling fool but Heidi was ok. Looking forward to how they cope TBH.

o8kawasaki89 04-01-2013 05:02 AM

They were really popular about 3 to 4 years ago when the hills was on, after that their fame faded until Heidi publicly shared her extreme plastic surgery and their fake divorce and reconciliation. The past few years the only place they are frequently seen are TMZ.

AnnieK 04-01-2013 05:15 AM

They have blown all their money too I believe and now have to live with parents I think. I don't think I'm going to like them but hoping they will be TV gold

Macie Lightfoot 04-01-2013 05:17 AM

Yes, they're pretty big in US pop culture. It's been a few years since the Hills aired so they're not as big as they were, but people still remember them.

You say that... but it's only a certain section of the population who've ever heard of Sitch or Speidi. I have nine people in the office today a 19 year old two in their early 20s ranging up to a man in his 50s. And none of them have ever heard of the Sitch or Speidi. And until they went into the house, neither had I.

MTVN 04-01-2013 10:37 AM

More in their own countries & on a global scale I meant really, but still I'd think most people who took a vague interest in reality TV in this country would've heard of them too

Yep I had never heard of them either, they may be fairly well known in the US but I wouldn't say they were well known over here at all...

ff10wakka 04-01-2013 07:21 PM

They use to be really big over here sadly. It's been a few years since they have been relevant though.

daniel-lewis-1985 04-01-2013 07:29 PM

Yeah they are household names.

They are hated in the US though Heidi had a small part in "Just Go With It" with Jennifer Aniston who refused to walk the red carpet if Heidi was present lol.

rk3388 04-01-2013 07:32 PM

situation is a HUGE name in NA. I would be surprised if I came across someone at school who didnt know who he was.
