im so annoyed with myself

I had the oppurtunity to apply for my dream job i applied for it last week but left it till the last minute to fully complete the application form iilled out the form online ,completed my cv , the only thing i waited for was my references which i was waiting to speak to a gp to see if he would give me a reference which he said of course he would as he really appreciates the work i do. Any way when i went on to the nhs website to add my references the appliciation had bloody closed, i am so gutted, ive worked hard in my job for 10 years getting as much experiance as i could and waited for this specific job to become available, iwould be earning double what i get now for 10 hours less than i do now and like a numpty ruined it,

I just thought id tell you all as i need to let off steam,

If you want to know what line of work im in, its rehab (breaks of bones, arthritis etc occasional substance abuse)

Try and cheer me up guys

Had your application gone through without the references?

How does physical rehab (bones/arthritis), cross over into the field of substance misuse?

Do you not know anyone in HR??. They may be able to accept a late application if you explain the circumstances

Pain relief such as morphine zomorph tramadol is very easy to become addicted to once patients have had them for pain, they therefore prior to leaving hospital and getting rehab from us need to spend a while with us coming off thr drugs slowly, this doesnt happen alot just now and again, the local pct are trying to make enabling packages include community rehab for both substance and fractures so they do take alot of my units work load

Well ithought this, one of my ex managers was a cqc (governing body) inspector so i might ask her what she can do for me, she has lots of friends in high places.

That's what I was thinking. I would still attempt to submit your application. You have nothing at all to lose. Good luck.

Also as we have team members that are higHER QUALIFIED and rotate their placements of work and often help the nta which is a division of the nhs specifcally created to deal woth substance abuse so we often link up with them.

You've nothing to lose...the worst they can do is say no. I assume it was an online process was it? I have recruited into pcts and NHS trusts and the HR managers can usually override these things....good luck. Let us know how you get on...
