As if that would magically stop women being raped over there, men who do that disgusting act do not care how women are dressed...

Of course it wont magically stop rapes in the area, it isnt meant to, its part of a series of measures being brought in, including the banning of alcohol.

Better equality laws, education, a decent police force, tougher laws and punishment for rape are really whats needed.

However its a start in that area.

They have also banned 'DJ parties' so the message is women stop dressing casually and dancing as you are provoking these men to rape you?....
The alcohol ban won't have an effect either, it is attitudes towards women that need to change. The bus driver and passengers who are now on trial for murder following gang rape were they all drunk? No.
Another issue is the inference that 'western' influence is a root cause, DJ's, Jeans and alcohol. Where is the accountability?

The problem has never been what women wear, that is just an excuse made by rapists, or potential rapists, attempting to escape accountability for their own actions because they are weak and pathetic.

As far as this case in India - I fail to see how anyone can claim that the wearing of jeans which cover legs and a teashirt which is not particularly revealing can encourage rape, even for those idiots that believe what a woman wears means they are 'asking for it'.

Interesting idea, except the problem isn't solved, the men who think it's ok to rape women would simply change the target for their attacks. Anyway its not really our problem is it, it's India's?
