German actor Klaus Kinski 'abused his daughter Pola'

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-20971857

Quote:

The elder daughter of the late German film star Klaus Kinski, Pola, has accused her father of sexually abusing her between the ages of 5 and 19.

She told a German magazine she had broken her silence because of the continuing adulation Kinski enjoyed, more than 20 years after his death.

Kinski starred in some of the most famous German films of the 1970s and early 1980s, directed by Werner Herzog.

His numerous sexual liaisons with adults were well documented.

He made a name for himself in spaghetti westerns such as For a Few Dollars More before starring in Herzog films including Aguirre The Wrath of God (1972), Nosferatu the Vampyre (1979) and Fitzcarraldo (1982).

A biographer of the actor, Christian David, said there had been rumours about the relationship between Kinski and Pola for years.

Pola Kinski, herself an actress, spoke to Stern ahead of the release of her autobiography, Kindermund (English: The Mouths Of Babes).

Now 60, she said she had got to the point where she could no longer stomach the accolades heaped on her "genius" father.

She also wanted, through her book, to help "others who have lived through something similar".

Germany's top-selling tabloid Bild commended Ms Kinski as a "heroine" for having had the courage to talk about "what probably thousands of daughters do not dare to say".

There was no immediate comment on Pola's book from her half-siblings, Nastassja and Nikolai, when their representatives were contacted by Reuters news agency.

K will go with her. Just on the info that is available

Not nice sullying the name of your dad simply because he was a better actor than she is or will be.

Nasty way to get a book to sell.

That's not the way we tell if he broke the law though, if it "sounds like" he did. There has to be evidence. But of course, there will be no evidence here because this woman left it all this time before she spoke about it. Like so many others lately.

I'm with Shasown on this one. I guess the next step is the book. And then the film of the book etc...........

Nastassja Kinski: sister a "heroine"

http://www.startribune.com/entertain...2.html?refer=y

Quote:

BERLIN - Nastassja Kinski has praised her half-sister for going public with allegations that she was sexually abused as a child by their father, the late German actor Klaus Kinski.

In an article penned for Friday's edition of German newspaper Bild, the actress said that she's "deeply shocked" by the allegations. In a new book, Pola Kinski details her father's alleged emotional and sexual abuse over a 14-year period, during which he warned his daughter not to tell anyone what happened.

Nastassja Kinski says that it's a "difficult moment" for her but she's proud that her half-sister found the strength to write the book. She wrote: "My sister is a heroine, because she has freed her heart, her soul and also her future from the weight of the secret."
If Nastassja believes her sister, then I do, too ..... :eureka:

I'm relying on you to make a thread about it when it happens, Arista.

edit: That'll teach me to read things to the end.

Rumours. That's not evidence.

Jesus. 11-01-2013 11:33 AM

I can only imagine how difficult it must be to highlight something like this, when the abuser is a public figure.

No one should be made to feel bad about not having the strength to report these things at the time.

I hope men that are falsely accused and despite the lack of any evidence, have their lives and/or reputations ruined because "mud sticks", can be considered at some point.

I hope that no one ever says that about you with no evidence to back it up, Salman. Because it they do, you'll be damned forever in some people's eyes.

Well, Klaus Kinski wasn't a saint - he had a voracious sexual appetite :

Kinski Uncut: The Autobiography of Klaus Kinski

From his tortured childhood in the poverty of prewar Berlin - starving, stealing, perpetually frostbitten - his conscription, at age sixteen, into the German army in the last year of World War II, and on through his rise to international stardom as a film actor, Kinski carried with him a personal hell: an unendurable sense of isolation ameliorated only through acting and sex. His Casanovian pursuit of sex, beginning as a child with his sister and on through countless liaisons - from Moroccan prostitutes to the rich and famous - is chronicled in graphic detail.

The two cases are quite different. And furthermore, having a voracious sexual appetite isn't against the law.

WE were talking about rumours and the inaction of those who heard those rumours - therein lies the similarity

Some of his "conquests" to feed that appetite certainly are against the law, including incest with his sister .....
