Pete Doherty: Working On a New Babyshambles Album

From NME:

'Pete Doherty has started work on a new Babyshambles album with producer Stephen Street, who produced the band's last full-length effort, 2007's 'Shotters Nation'.

Bassist Drew McConnell revealed the news to NME. He explained that while the sessions had initially been set for Doherty's second solo album, it was confirmed by the singer and his record label, Parlophone, that the album would be released as Babyshambles' third.

Drummer Adam Ficek left Babyshambles in 2010, so Stereophonics drummer Jamie Morrison, who used to play in Noisettes, has been playing with the band in the studio. Guitarist Mick Whitnall is on board once more, as is keyboard player Stephen Large and songwriter John Robinson, who wrote the track 'I Am The Rain' on 'Grace/Wastelands', Doherty's solo album.

Initial sessions took place at the Assault And Battery studio in Willesden, London, with further songwriting sessions taking place in Paris, where Doherty lives.

Drummer Morrison said that the collective were looking to reconvene with Street in June to pick up sessions. No release plan has been set out yet.'
