Incredibly Selfish?

What are peoples thoughts on this? She sat back and let everyone refuse their letters the other day because she wasn't getting hers (and you know if she'd been the only one not to get it, they would have got it to her in some other way) But when she gets offered hers on last nights show, she didn't even hesitate in taking it.

Ryan was clearly upset, he didn't say it at the time but you could tell it from his face, nobody seemed at all bothered by that though

Marc 23-01-2013 10:45 AM

Fgs they'll be out on Friday why can't they just wait.

Claire is an emotional wreck... she needs to get a grip

the truth 23-01-2013 10:47 AM

yes 100% selfish and self obsessed and sexist too

Niamh. 23-01-2013 10:48 AM

If anything Ryan probably needed that letter more, he's also a parent and in a foreign country

the truth 23-01-2013 10:50 AM

11000 miles from home ,all he has done is be generous and hand his letter back to support clare and trisha...and this is how they reward him? disgusting selfish people...Their character is 100% exposed... lets hope he gets his letter.

AnnieK 23-01-2013 10:56 AM

I am sure he will get his letter...It is selfish assuming that women miss their kids more then men and therefore have more of a right to hear from their kids.....

Her letter wasn't even from her kids anyway :idc:

She's a stupid bitch, and her cronies Rylan and Tricia are worse.

Scream 23-01-2013 11:06 AM

Well, I don't like Ryan so don't care!! Good on her

sampvt 23-01-2013 11:10 AM

These people have been starved of the one thing they all need, camera time, so she saw an opertunity to grab some. I find her very opague and false and she acts like a fish out of water along side bigger personalities and she flounders occassionaly. The tears are a defence mechanism she uses too often for me and she is quite insignifficant to the shows ethos.

Agreed. Her tears are getting on my nerves. She's not the only parent in there.

Rob4 23-01-2013 11:39 AM

She likes to be the victim i think, cannot stand to see anymore tears. If you miss them so much, do not go in there in the first place or just bloody leave!

Yes and she's not the only one in there using tears to get votes. It really annoys me. :nono:

Ammi 23-01-2013 11:57 AM

..I have to say I didn't watch it, but it does sound incredibly selfish..if that was me I would say ok, I'm walking if you all refuse your letters....she does seem a very weepy person...

I agree!

Gillian-73 23-01-2013 12:05 PM

It was selfish. What they'd done for her the previous day was instantly forgotten, which is what upset Ryan more, from clips I've seen.

Stevep 23-01-2013 12:20 PM

Firstly, i do think Ryan was right to be upset as his reasoning was more than understandable. But at the same time he should have just accepted the situation, been happy for the girls and just moved on.

The difference between the first time the letters were to be read and the one last night was the fact that the first time the whole letter reading task was ruined by an act of almost cruelty to Claire, so it would not have been right for them to get to read theirs whilst Claire did not.

I totally understand where Ryan is coming from, and he is within his right to be upset, but i guarantee once he comes out he'll say to himself i should have suck it up and got on with it.

Btw, yes Claire was a slight selfish, but again rightly or wrongly understandably so. Let us also not forget two others got to read their letters too. I guess they all just supposed it would be alright. Which it wasn't.

That doesn't necessarily mean she can't get upset though does it? After all we aren't all the same.

But why does she get priority? Just because she got upset? It's not fair on the other parents in there. Frankie has 5 kids.

I know, I'm just saying that just because she isn't the only parent in there isn't a reason why she can't cry. If she's emotional, then she's emotional.

I agree with you that it was a slight selfish though.

I think she was very selfish and it's not the first time she's shown this side of her character. I'm also very fed up with her crying but I wasn't impressed by Razor again last night. He said several times, to make sure we heard "big men do cry". He showed total disreguard for Ryan's feelings although he's supposed to like him so much. Razor has turned out to be an unpleasant character IMO although I liked him before he went into the house.

Apologies OP I know this post is about Claire. Yes I do think she was selfish.

No worries, they're very good points you made about Razor actually

He was happy that they got their letters, he even read out Razor's to him, but I don't think he should have just 'moved on'. It would have been worse imo if he had bitched about it in the diary room, kudos for him for actually telling the others how he felt about it...
