Can the C/BB franchise be rescued ?

CBB only draws zelebs.
BB ratings are in the gutter.
The sideshows have become the most pitiful piles of embarrassment on the box.

Can the franchise be saved ?

I think it can be and should be.

I think the only way that's remotely possible is if we get some talent into the PRODUCTION side.

Given what the series producers must be paid, can it really be THAT difficult to recruit someone with a modicum of talent ?

Yes, C/BB has had its hayday but what's being done to it is actively killing its remaining potential - which is still significant.

Aren't the viewing figures still better than what Channel 5 usually achieves? I think they were to begin with.

Surely it's about BB, not Ch.5 ?

They are doing a major redesign in the summer so I guess we'll find out.

It's about how much profit the show makes for C5's owner (Richard Desmond). If BB is profitable, it will continue. If not, it won't. It's really that simple! :)

The only way they can save the franchise is if they don't make 2 a year, and decide whether to do it in the summer or the winter.

Ratings in the gutter?

Last night attracted 3.25m. The highest final on Channel 5. It came 2nd in it's slot just behind BBC1.

Compared to earlier CBB's.

I don't understand what kind of celebritys people expect... The c5 celebritys have been better and more relevant than any c4 series or even I'm a celeb. If your expecting the queen and Beyonce to walk in the house then you need to lower your standers :/
