An idea for a new nominations process based on BBAUS

I've heard a bit about BB Australia's new nomination system using points allocation or something, each housemate gets 5 points (I think) to allocate however they choose between their two nominations, the two or more with the most points are up.

Well, how about we introduce the same thing here, but each housemate gets a different number of points depending on how well they fair in a weekly task (similar to Save & Replace). For example;

12 housemates. A task where the outcome will result in each housemate being ranked from the winner to 12th.

1st - 12 points (and is possibly immune, not sure on that one though)
2nd - 11 points
3rd - 10 points
...
11th - 2 points (a normal nomination)
12th - Doesn't get to nominate at all (and possibly faces eviction, again not sure on that though)

The week after the winner gets 11 points and so on as one by one they're evicted...

Works in the same way, each housemate can split their points between their two nominations however they want, and the housemates with the most points (which I think should be a minimum of three) face the public vote.

Tasks could be mental, physical, endurance etc. Varies week on week so that all housemates strengths are catered to. Could even do it live.

Could throw things completely up in the air and it'd never be predictable.

Interesting idea :D

The big flaw would be if a couple of people from the same alliance, especially one hated by the viewers, finishing in the top in the challenge and we ended up with a quite a few weeks with only members from one alliance nominated, like the Luke vs Lauren head-to-head that annoyed so many people last year.

I'd like the idea of just having the winner of the task be immune and the first person out end up automatically up for eviction, a bit like 'I Love Money'. That way you'd get three public up for eviction, as a minimum every week.

Would definitely give it a revamp.

No I don't think people should get different nomination rights.

Though I like the idea of the points, people wouldn't take to it over here, maybe introduce it for the odd week first so people get used to it.

Though if there was one change I would make it would be to have at least 3 people up each week, thats when Vote To Save makes a good difference.

there will always be flaws in nomination systems but i agree with emmetmci if one thing should be taken from BBAU is at least have 3 people up.

I Like it Jack!...

That and actual consequences for breaking rules instead of turning off the hot water for a few hours after everyone is bathed.

I'd imagine it would be very rare though because of the varying skills required for the tasks each week and the numerous different points combinations that could result from each housemate's ranking.

Great thinking Jack! I'd love it to be shaken up a notch! :D

But you've got to think, I don't believe half the country would even understand this (as understandable as it is though!). I guess that's why they keep it simple.

That's not a flaw - it's an incentive for people to do well in the tasks, something the show is lacking at the moment.

I did like the idea of the poor side having to win the right to nominate back in BB9, so that's an idea which could easily be expanded to the whole house - though I'd keep it simple to perhaps people winning the right to nominate one, two or three people.
