Death threats
I understand this is a light hearted forum full of witty replies and hilarious gifs but genuine answers will be much appreciated..
kind of received a death threat today over a phone call, followed by several abusive text and facebook messages. One text message included the words "You are a twat who will get what is coming to him" This was received after a phone call with the words "I'll ****ing kill him" Because I was tipsy and there was no evidence (as if I was expected to record the phone call,) police didn't take me too seriously and offered seeing me tomorrow after me sleeping on it. They were massively unhelpful and suggested deactivating my Facebook account. Ignoring this threat might seem like the most logical answer to most people, but if the person knows next to everything about me including mine and my families address, what do you think I should do if police continue to be unhelpful? Legitimately scared.. |
Go into the station and confront them about it? Might make them take it more seriously.
What have you done for people to send you death threats though?! Or are they just random ? |
If anyone ever dared give me a death threat it better to be my face. Because if not, I'll find them, and I will sort it out.

Hmmm, you sure it wasn't a friend dicking around?
If it wasn't then maybe speak to the police again in person. |

And Jack, it was nothing in particular, just years of little things piling up into a mutual mass hatred |

Thanks for the original advice, I'm supposed to be in town tomorrow anyway. I guess a complaint there would be taken more seriously than a drunken phone call |
Sorry to hear it but don't expect the police to do an awful lot. They may have a chat with the person (as i assume you have kept the texts) but until they physically assault you or come to your house and try to damage property the police are pretty much unable to do anything. If it continues you would be better seeking a restraining order which if they breach you can have them arrested for.

What Annie said. If you're really worried about it and its someone you have a nasty history with, get a restraining order.
The police can't do anything until this person has physically done something to harm you, or damage your property. Hope you get it sorted  |
..yeah, the restraining order is the best option..that way if they do break it, the police will have to become involved....
..I hope you get it sorted out, it must horrible for you.... |
