Human tooth 'found in Tesco sausages'...

A couple claim to have come across a human tooth with a filling inside a Tesco pack of sausages.

Tony Hinds, 27, was shopping at a store in Sheerness, Kent when he purchased some British Pork and Chive sausages, according to the Daily Mail.

However, 21-year-old fiancée Lauren Gooch was shocked when she made the alarming discovery as she tore open the packaging.

Tesco offered the pair £25 in vouchers, but Hinds is adamant that he will never shop at the retailer again.

"It's not about the compensation," he stated. "I want some reasonable acknowledgement of what it was.

"I'm not a greedy person but at the end of the day, a £25 gift card for a human tooth is not acceptable."

Tesco initially responded to Hinds's complaint by apologising for the "piece of bone" that had found its way into the sausages.

It later admitted that the "foreign body" was, in fact, a human tooth, but refused to take blame for the body part - stating that there is no proof it was responsible for the tooth.

A Tesco spokesperson explained: "We are sorry for any upset caused by this incident. However, after a thorough investigation, we are confident the tooth was not inside the product when it arrived at the store.

"All products undergo robust testing during the manufacturing process including metal detection.

"The object in question is part metal and, during supplier tests, it was easily picked up by the metal detector. It would therefore not have been able to leave site undetected."

Tesco was recently involved in another food scandal after a sample of Tesco Everyday Value Beef Burgers contained 21.9% horse meat.

Bet they planted the tooth there themselves

Livia 07-02-2013 02:37 PM

I'm with MTVN on this one... They said it's not about the money, then said £25 was not enough.

No

It was in that Sausage.

Tesco are Guilty

AnnieK 07-02-2013 05:31 PM

No way has that not been planted by them. They know tesco have had bad press with the horse meat business so saw a quick way to make some money as I bet they thought they would settle big and quick to save more bad press. Ridiculous that they weren't laughed out of the store when they complained.
