Andrew Stone has been charged with assaulting a woman.

The 40-year-old dancer, who appeared on Celebrity Big Brother last year, is accused of attacking an unnamed 25-year-old female in London last month.

Stone's agent Terry Mills told the Daily Star: "My client totally refutes the charges made against him and will look forward to proving his innocence in court.

"I have no further comment to make at this time."

A Scotland Yard spokesman confirmed: "We were called in the early hours of Wednesday, January 30 to reports of an assault at an address in W1, central London.

"The victim was a 25-year-old woman, a man of 40 was arrested."

Stone, who was the first star to leave the Celebrity Big Brother 9 house, was released on bail and will appear before Westminster magistrates on February 13.

In a separate incident, Celebrity Big Brother contestant Paula Hamilton recently appeared in court accused of assaulting a police officer.
