It was picked up as a Eathquake

"A third nuclear test has been successfully
staged," the North's state-run
Korean Central News agency said.
The nuclear test was conducted as part
of measures to protect our national security
and sovereignty against the
reckless hostility of the United States
that violated our republic's right for a peaceful satellite launch."

Is the powder keg getting ready to blow....!!!!

I'd take anything that the North Korean state media says with a heavy pinch of salt. Chances are the bomb did go off, but whether it went off without any major faults and problems is something I sincerely doubt. That country is so dire at making things I don't really believe that it will ever successfully manufacture a nuke.

It's not really a problem of infrastructure or propaganda though. To make nukes, you need scientists to follow a scientific method. If scientists around the world watching these tests believe what has happened, then that's enough for me.

NK still have some anti-west allies, so it's not beyond the realms of any possibility.

We should send Arista over there to tell them what mountains nukes should be fired from, and to kick up a fuss if they put them in the wrong places, or places where there are already similar nukes.

He would bury them in red tape.

Where's Team America World Police when we need them?

I know I know, I'm just saying that I don't really think they could pull it off in the end given how resourceless they are. I mean their allies might help them in that respect, but even then I can't really see it happening because deep down I think even they now how monumental a mistake that would be. (Well I hope so anyway.)

It's just a marvel that the DPRK has lasted this long really. It can't last much longer; I wonder how long until it collapses..

I wished I shared your optimism but independent sources have confirmed seismic shock waves registering about 4.9 on the Richter scale which equates to a nuclear bomb test. The strength of this bomb is about 6 times more powerful than the one exploded in 2009. That bomb was Plutonium based but this one is based on uranium and is thought to be much smaller.

Take this in conjunction with NK recent ballistic missile test which was a verified success. I think you see where this is going and why the major military powers are taking this very seriously. Most likely pressure will be put on China to reign in NK but I don't think they have as much influence as they like to think they have.

All Round a very worrying time for the world as this NK Govt are unstable and major military powers WILL have to take some form of military action sooner rather than later...!!!!
