Arista - this is a serious debate so not one word about the location of this thread.

Right, I think we're all aware this place is a bit quiet, and there are also some underlying tensions around, so as a member that has never taken part in the cooler version of most loved, then I reckon this should be brought back.

I completely understand and respect posters of all ages need to be included, and maybe members could have the right to remove themselves from consideration to prevent massive butthurt and hissy fits?

Anyway, this isn't a thread for arguing as it'll be instantly closed and we'd have proved why we're not allowed nice things.

Shaun is doing an amazing job with the quiz, and events that include 90% of FM's are far more successful than those that don't, so events like this actually prove to be more successful than the accompanying drama would suggest.

Of course, I also think it would be a good idea that if you remove your name from the consideration list, then you are automatically DQ'd from the gay versions of the razzies.

So TIBB - what say you?

..although I do think that the Razzies create a good balance to the forum..the problem is that Matt has always run them and there is a reason why he decided not to this year...for someone else to do it, would be much like someone other than Zee running ML...and that would be unfair to him because it's like 'his baby'.....and also, they both do them so well....

As a fairly new user who has never experienced the Razzies, I would have liked them to have gone ahead as planned and would like to see them happen, I am sure they would be very funny.....

Matt was considering doing them at some point IIRC, but I can understand the frustration with all of the threads being hidden/deleted a while down the line... it's just work for nothing :p

That said, I'd still rather have the night of them and then the thread's removed, than nothing at all.

Yeah, I'm sure Matt said he'd consider doing them around February. It's weird, I was thinking this the other day.

Anyway...bring them back. Should never have had to have been cancelled in the first place (by that I mean the things that led to Matt deciding to cancel them), it's ridiculous. Before the Pub Quiz this place was a ghost town and the quietest I've ever seen an off-season. And to be fair it's still quite quiet even with the quiz on-going. We need some drama to keep this place going, and hey...it's just the internet.

To be quite honest the Razzies shouldn't in theory have any drama anyway, it's just a bit of fun.

I had told Shaun privately that I was going to do them on February 25th to coincide with the real Razzie Awards, but I've been rather busy lately so I never got round to doing the voting

If there's still interest in them happening then I'm still interested in running them... despite everything that has gone on :laugh:
