Do you have any scars on your body..?...

..this is sort of linked to Munchkins' thread about plastic surgery...do you have any scars from accidents/surgery etc.. tell us about them if you want to..don’t if you don’t...that’s the way we roll around here...it’s all your very own choice..

..I have too many scars...some of them from childhood nonsense and others from major surgeries..some big, some small etc...but I’m fortunate because none are majorly visible....and they kind of tell my life anyway, so I don’t mind....

..are you ‘scarred’..are there any funny/weird/peculiar/silly stories attached to them that you don’t mind sharing...?...

..(oh, broken bones are eligible as well)....

My belly button is made up of a scar because when I was born my guts were like outside of my body.

And I have a scar on my forehead from when I was a kid. Apparently I fell off my rocking horse.

Niamh. 19-02-2013 01:10 PM

I have one just under my bottom lip from when I was younger, I jumped off a wall and over my friends clothes line in her garden, when I landed my knees hit my face and one of my teeth came through that bit of skin

King Gizzard 19-02-2013 01:11 PM

..you sound as though you were a bit of a tomboy like me...I jumped off a garage when I was little..well, I was sort of pushed but the result was the same....it hurt..although I did bounce a bit, so it could have been worse...

haha yeah I remember I was terrified but I had to do it because the boys said I couldn't cos I was a girl, it was a matter of pride

Oh I also have one at the base of my thumb on my left hand, I was working in a Bar in London when I was 19 and I was opening a bottle of wine and the neck of the bottle snapped as I was holding it. I damaged nerves that time, I've pins and needles in half of that thumb since

Just a really small one on my right elbow after I fell over having a waterfight in Southport years ago.

MTVN 19-02-2013 01:20 PM

A small one on the top of my head from when I cracked my head open in a WWI trench in Belgium

..yeah, in my street there was only one other girl..I was surrounded by boys, including two older brothers so I had to show them I was just as tough as them...only I wasn't and usually got hurt lol...

King Gizzard 19-02-2013 01:21 PM

Jesus. 19-02-2013 01:21 PM

I have scars over my legs from operations from playing footsie with a horse. I have a scar on my right thigh where my brother threw me on to some glass in a park when we were kids. I have a tiny scar under my left nostril from when I was given the beating of all beatings in a place, ironically called "upper slaughter" when I was younger.

One on my back from when I had a mole removed, and one on the first finger on my left hand from when my brother kicked a ball through my finger and it was bent completely backwards, and smashed.

Jarrod 19-02-2013 01:22 PM

Yep, one on my eyebrow.

the truth 19-02-2013 01:25 PM

yeah Im more scarred than crocodile dundee....scares some girls but others seem to like it.....snapped my leg playing rugby but came back a year later, in between endless other rugby related injuries....possibly the most painful to my surprise was a dislocated shoulder, fricking agony

lostalex 19-02-2013 01:28 PM

yes.

Livia 19-02-2013 01:31 PM

I have a few scars, and I've had lots of broken bones from skiing, motorbike riding and generally twatting about like a maniac. However, my most interesting scar is a jaggy one down my right index finger where I was injured by a tank. Basically, I was in the Imperial War Museum, had a close look at a Matilda tank, stuck my finger in a bullet hole in the side and as I pulled it out, it got stuck on a jaggy bit and opened up my whole finger. Claret everywhere. It still counts as a tank injury though...
