With an awful sounding twist. it's basically not stars in their eyes anymore. I've wanted this show back for years but i don't really want it now..

Stars In Their Eyes is set to return to our screens with a new twist, according to inside sources.

ITV is reportedly planning to revamp the classic show, in which contestants dressed and performed as famous singers.

The show, which was presented by Matthew Kelly, ran until 2004 and is now being revived as a cross between the original Stars In Their Eyes and The X Factor.

The Sun reports that the new format will be called Your Face Sounds Familiar and will feature celebrities impersonating different music stars.

The same celebrities will feature each week of the six-episode series, impersonating a different star each time, with a public vote deciding the eventual winner.

An insider said: ‘Bosses have got high hopes for this. There is a gap in the market for another big entertainment show, particularly with the decline in ratings for The X Factor.

‘It is not going to be the most serious programme and bosses want celebs who are up for some fun and will be pretty gung-ho about it.

‘It is all for charity and will be very light-hearted. There will be a lot of laughs along the way.’

Stars In Their Eyes, which featured contestants impersonating chart stars, was presented by Matthew Kelly until 2004.
