Do you ask stupid questions...

..or do you just stay confused and say nothing when it feels as though there's something that seems obvious to other people but not to you..?

..I know this thread has been done before, but it was quite a long time ago, so I thought I'd start a new one, rather than bump it.....

SharkAttack 24-02-2013 08:45 AM

http://i395.photobucket.com/albums/p...ential/yes.gif But I only ask them on behalf of the others around me who are too worried to ask. http://i395.photobucket.com/albums/p...tial/crazy.gif http://i395.photobucket.com/albums/p...ial/shifty.gif

Ammi 24-02-2013 08:50 AM

..yeah, that's a good answer SA..I'm going to use that...it's kind of like..'I have a friend who has this problem.....'...lol....I ask stupid questions all the time btw....

joeysteele 24-02-2013 09:04 AM

No matter how daft the question may seem or even how silly,if I am really unsure as to the answer or haven't a clue at all then I will ask it, starting with ''I just want to be sure''.
It is amazing the times I have asked what seemed a ridiculously daft question but then had others come up to me afterwards, especially at school and university, and say I am really glad you asked that.

SharkAttack 24-02-2013 09:19 AM

You know you've asked a bad question when you get the "look." It's the face of condescension transitioning into pity, along with the slow gait of voice as they explain themselves.

So yes, sometimes it's a little nicer, and less evil, to remain confused and Internet-search the answer yourself. We're not cowards, we merely want to get the information without having to go through the social quirks that make us feel poorly about ourselves. "no, damnit, I'm not a bit 'daft.'" http://i395.photobucket.com/albums/p...tial/miniz.gif

Joey, I am *so* happy you used the word daft twice before I sent my post. Makes me feel a whole lot better. And it's totally true, people almost always come up later and say "thanks for taking the hit, happy you asked, now we all know." That's a nice way to do it too.

No. Loose tongues cost lives in my world.

Shasown 24-02-2013 09:24 AM

The only stupid question is the one left unasked.

If in doubt ask.

Ammi 24-02-2013 09:30 AM

...sometimes you do ask and don't get the answer though..although this a general question, the reason for me starting the thread is quite specific, I guess...there was a member on TiBB..(don't know if I can name them..)..it seemed that they might have been a celebrity or someone famous to some people..I didn't know if they were this person or just a fan of theirs..I seemed to be the only one who didn't know..it's not something you can google either....

Phew! Good, Ammi, because I have *no* idea who that person is either. It's been haunting me forever. Can someone give us hand here?

Ammi 24-02-2013 09:48 AM

..do you know who I mean, or is that a stupid question lol..?...

:hugesmile:Once on here too, I wanted to ask but never did, until there was some members talking generally about mods and I jumped in with a post, saying I didn't really know how to know if someone was a mod.
To then get the response, their names are in green.

Jake. 24-02-2013 10:57 AM

Oh yes, all of the time!

..I didn't know that at first either Joey..I also asked who Mark was once because someone had made a birthday thread and I thought it should have been Marc....I thought James was the owner...

Marc 24-02-2013 11:48 AM

I have very little pride, I ask questions if they're stupid. I really don't care

Kizzy 24-02-2013 12:24 PM

I rarely ask stupid questions.... but I answer loads of them :)

Glenn. 24-02-2013 12:27 PM

No. I do think before I speak most of the time.

I can't tolerate stupid people, they get on my tits.

GypsyGoth 24-02-2013 12:27 PM

I guess I would try find the answer for myself, but also I wouldn't be afraid to ask someone. Even if they thought me stupid because I asked, well I have enough confidence in my intelligence to not let their opinion affect me.

Raph 24-02-2013 03:04 PM

I always ask stupid questions but really, they're not stupid. It's just because i'm curious and want to learn. I don't mind coming across unintelligent in asking the questions really because in the long run it's just helping me intellectually :)

Marcus. 24-02-2013 03:13 PM

yes i do
