Should Mrs Obama have presented the last oscar

Never seen someone outside the movie business present the biggets oscar or any oscar

last night the last oscar presented was for the movie of the year........the legend himself jack nicholson strolled out and half way through presenting he introduced michelle obama to present the movie of the year oscar.

No Im a big fan of hers and even moreso of her husband who I think is a legend

However Im a little uncomfortable when political people override the oscars at the biggeest moment of the show? I also think it was a little disrespectful of Jack himself, but he of course handled it all with his usual charm and grace

what you lot think am I tlaking out of my hat or did it seem a bit inappropriate?

thought it was stupid, but didn't bother me much

bangs don't look good on anyone

It was kinda tacky but she always strikes me as more of a celebrity than a politician... probably not a good sign of US politics

really? compared to what? ever heard of the Queen's royal variety show? That's way more tacky. mmmkay. and don't even make me mention the opening ceremony to the olympics...(queen skydiving...)

I would have personally preferred an acting legend to present it but I had no problem with her doing the presentation either.

It would have been better for Jack to present it but I'm not against Michelle doing it.

mark this day in the diary, I actually fully agree with you.....the way we bring monarchy into everything is tacky shallow and embarassing and God save the queen is the worlds worst ever anthem......land of hope and glory and jerusalem are timeless classics and get me misty eyed, but the queens anthem is a total embarassment, as if the entire great history of england is about one privelieged person, its an insult to our ancestors

I just found it to be a bit bizarre and pointless but it didn't bother me.
