Anonymous make a homeless man cry with happiness
Beautiful. If only this happened more often. Generosity and sense of community are key to a better society  |
This is lovely
|
this is amazing
|
I'd feel quite scared if I didn't know what Anonymous was and I saw a group of guys wearing masks walking down the street
Could be one of those who blows his money of booze, it isn't particularly any of those people's fault that he is homeless |
oh is that who the people who wear them masks are?
|
uuuuugh anonymous make my eyes bleed

The last minute was nice. The first 5 was too "Everybody look at how nice I am, this is anonymous lets take our masks off and get photos for Facebook" Better than nothing I guess but right now they're sitting at the top of their high horse for donating £3.

Hate the group. Fair enough they are giving money to a homeless man, but I think a lot of it has to do with publicity P.s I give money to homeless people/charity all the time. I'm not a hypocrite/selfish at all |
Am i the only one that finds this scary and disturbing? True mob/sheep mentality. Listen to them like a cult. "We're the only ones that care about you, can't you feel the love? We are the answer". Pure propaganda.

~the crowd clears, the streets empty, nary a soul to be found~
<man gets up, shakes off poor posture and holds earnings tightly to his chest> <saunters down the street> <rounds corner and speaks to man near booth> "She's ready for you, Carl, ya ol devil, ya." "Thanks for looking after her, here's something for your troubles." <hands over a few bills> <driver comes out of carport by booth in new blazing red corvette> <Carl gets in and drives off> "SUCKERRRRRRS!" Still a fun video and a lovely last minute. :) |

Yes it stinks |
The sentiment is there, and the guy obviously appreciated it, but I don't see the need for them to stick mobile phones and video cameras in his face just because they see fit to do so.

Have to say I didn't watch the vid last night and I think i'm getting this group mixed up with one called 'random acts of kindness' or something.

Anonymous arent really one single group, they're more of an idea, a lot of people just latch onto the name.

..it's not callous at all though Jack..I cringed when I watched the vid for lots of reasons..that guy is not going to be any less 'segregated' because he's been given some money on a 'one off' which he may or may not spend on alcohol/food..no one knows but either way, he'll still be where he is tomorrow and the next day because what they did was of no 'real help'..and do they actually help people in ways that really would make a difference..do they donate regularly to charities for the homeless..give up their time to work in shelters...even buy a McDonalds or something..a hot drink etc and give them to people...old warm clothes they have in their wardrobes...something that would make a lasting difference....do they give them any advice on any programmes etc which could help them learn some skills and get them 'off the street'.... ..I don't see that being a bit sceptical of what they're doing or how it will benefit him is being callous...they say they're 'anonymous' but yet they're 'playing' to a crowd of people there..I would be more convinced if they really were anonymous and they 'anonymously' gave that guy help..but giving money to someone is kind of the easy option...no effort really..that poor guy like so many the same needs help that does require effort and time..and a real commitment...maybe they do that as well, as I don't know much about them, (and I will read up on them)..but I didn't see any of that in the vid...just a bigging up of themselves and a guy who would maybe eat (or drink) for a few days ....and then everything will be as it was for him.... |
