I'm pre ordering that **** right now. Saints Row 3 was flawless.

Black Dagger 15-03-2013 01:19 PM

I like how it's not so serious, it's now just a 'fun, just hit people in the face with dildos, we dgaf' sort of game.

Scarlett. 15-03-2013 01:40 PM

Kinda looks like more of the same. I miss the style of SR2.

Iceman 15-03-2013 01:42 PM

SR3 was the only platinum I got on the PS3

Shaun 15-03-2013 01:51 PM

looks pretty much exactly the same as SR3... which is why I'll buy it.

but...but... FINAL chapter? :( i assume this is cause they went bust...

It was actually a DLC for SR3 but they decided to expand it into a full game.

MTVN 15-03-2013 02:11 PM

Probably won't buy it if it's anything like SR 3, was alright but the first two games were a lot better

Scarlett. 15-03-2013 02:46 PM

Looking at this picture makes me depressed over what the SR series has become.

Been reading more about it, apparently its a full game based on what, until June last year was the "Enter The Dominatrix"

It is set in the same city
It has the same basic engine with nothing much new
It has the same animations

It's basically DLC being touted as a full game.

Tom4784 15-03-2013 05:17 PM

SR3 was a good direction for the series to go in, the problem with the first two games in the series was that they were good but they lived in GTA's shadow, SR3 carved it's own niche by taking advantage of what GTA lost, the bat**** insanity of it all.

Scarlett. 16-03-2013 11:37 AM

Why did it have to step out of GTA's shadow, it was a good enough series as it was, the series used to be about something. Now it's just about throwing as much stupid **** into a game as possible. It's hard to believe this is a game in the same series as the one in the video below

MTVN 16-03-2013 11:46 AM

Yeah it's just become about them constantly trying to outdo themselves now in terms of how ridiculous it can be, whereas I think SR2 had the perfect balance between that and actually being able to take it seriously and get into the whole thing

Samuel. 16-03-2013 11:53 AM

Definitely a big divide between SR1-2 fans and SR3 fans.

Never been a fan of the GTA series, which is why I probably struggled to connect to SR too. Loved The Third though.

Apprehensive on this though, seeing as it originated from DLC and with what happened to THQ (mostly likely smaller budget/rushed schedule). At least they're continuing to go in the right direction.

I don't think any series should strive to live in another's shadow, look at True Crime, it failed miserably until Sleeping Dogs was released since the True Crime series lacked a niche while Sleeping Dogs changed the typical GTA formula into something unique with the whole fighting and level up systems.

I don't think Saint's Row would have lasted if it remained how it was once GTA4 came out, it needed it's own niche and they found it in making it completely OTT.

Really liked number 2. Didn't mind 1, but wasn't too big a fan of the third. Wasn't really edgy enough. The other two had a great balance of comedy, insanity and grit.

Ramsay 16-03-2013 04:29 PM

Big fan of 1 and 2...still havent got around to playing 3 yet though

Smithy 16-03-2013 05:01 PM

The 3rd just doesn't take itself as seriously as GTA I liked the earlier games but IV was depressing as hell

Seeing this, the tide has definately turned on the Saints Row. It just looks like a poor rip off of Saints Row The Third, a really poor rip off.

Samuel. 09-05-2013 12:00 PM

Yeah, not impressed. Looks cheap and rushed. They're not going for the right kind of crazy with super powers and aliens/monsters.

Shaun 09-05-2013 12:44 PM

oh dear :(

Scarlett. 09-05-2013 11:46 PM

The most sad/funny thing is, Ubisoft put more work into a expansion/arcade game (Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon) than Volition have put into a whole game.

Ramsay 09-05-2013 11:56 PM

They should of just left it as DLC
