Who here uses an iPad or any Tablet computer?

I just ordered an Ipad mini 32g. I'm really excited for it.

Was just wondering how many other people here have tablets of any kind, Which one do you have? and do you like it? Do you use it as much as you thought you would? Do you regret buying it?

Just wondering what everyone else thought about tablets.

I bought mine because I found myself in bed using my iPod touch many nights in bed, and the screen is so small. I thought, well basically an iPad mini is just a really big iPod touch, so this should be perfect for me.

It should be delivered by the end of next week, so i'll give a review once i get it. I think it will be perfect for me. I really didn't want a laptop.

But what do you think? Would you rather use a laptop in bed? or a tablet?

I have a Kindle Fire which is a tablet of sorts I suppose its a bit fiddly to use the net on it though.

I don't really see the point in having an iPAD when you can get an equivalent that's actually portable.

what do you mean? the iPad mini is pretty small... which tablet do you have? I specifically got the iPad mini cause i've seen a lot of people say that the regular iPad is a bit cumbersome. I think it will be the right size for me.

I mean iPads in general. The mini's fine but the vast majority of them just come across as bulky and all. Rather than having a big screen that's exactly the same as an iPod or iPhone, I'd much rather just get the iPod/iPhone.

I don't own a tablet.

You made a good purchase, Alex. Have a Kindle Fire HD(wife), and iPhone(wife), iPad (dad). The Kindle is excellent for the lower price, but it is not as responsive as the iPad. IMHO, the extra bit of cash to shell out for the Apple unit is worth it. Enjoy!

Still fine with a nice PC without having to touch my screen and swipe. :-)

That is exactly what I find SA, the Kindle was a Christmas pressie and it was bought for book reading rather than accessing the net so I'm okay with it.

I love the anti-glare feature. Very nice screen, games show up sharp, and I've not had any problems with Internet as you have. Yet. Not too bad for a pressie, C!

Do you have a desktop computer as well Kaz? or is your laptop your main computer?

For me I have an iMac and an iPod Touch, and the iPod is great as a music device, I take it with me everywhere, but it kinda sucks for apps when i'm in bed at night, so i'm hoping the iPad mini can fill in the gap between my iMac and iPod Touch.

I still plan on using my iMac as my main computer, i don't plan on replacing it with an iPad or anything. It's more that i'm planning on replacing my casual use which currently is my iPod, with the iPad mini. Basically i just want a device for when i'm laying in bed at night. Once i've committed to getting away from the computer, i still want something i can use in bed when i'm all tucked in.

Yea, this was basically my birthday present from my Dad. My birthday was in January, and he gave me an extra 200 bucks to spend however i wanted, so i saved up and used it to buy the iPad mini.

I need to remember to thank him when i get it, cause he basically paid for half.

Nope but I'm planning to get a Mini soon :D I have a question myself though, is 16GB too small? Bear in mind that I'll only download apps and music, no movies

I do have a desktop, but we don't use it much at all now,I take the IPad with me when I go out and about as it's very usefull for that, but I mainly use my laptop for most stuff, but the Ipad is great for when I'm in bed and want to watch movies or play games.I think it will be good for what you want it for.

I was worried about that too, and from what i read, if you download a lot of games(which i do) they can take up a lot of space, so i went for the 32 gigs.

I have a 64 gig Ipod and it's almost full, so i know it's easy to fill up HD space. But i also have my entire music library on my iPod, and i'm not gonna put my Music on my iPad mini so i'm hoping 32g will be enuf.

Yeah but £270 to £350 is a bit of a step up

I'd download a reasonable number of apps and probably at most 200-300 songs. Maybe even less

It is a big difference. For me i know i'm not gonna buy a new one for at least 2 or 3 years, so i just wanted to make sure i'd be happy with it.

I figure i spend 100 bucks on alcohol in just 1 week and that only lasts for 1 night. I shouldn't be cheap and be worried about 100 bucks on something that's gonna last for 2 years. So that's why i went for the 32g version.

That's my logic. You've gotta put things in perspective.
