Kate Lawler lands own radio show

Big Brother winner Kate Lawler has been given a regular radio show, taking over from Cat Deeley on Capital FM.

Kate will host the station's Sunday afternoon slot alongside former TV presenter Andi Peters.

Cat Deeley and Edith Bowman are "taking a breather" from the show because of their TV commitments.

It is thought they will be looking at new opportunities with Capital when their TV schedules slow down.

Kate, who has previously been a stand-in for Capital DJ Steve Penk, said: "It's an honour to be working with Andi who I've been a fan of since his days with Edd the Duck."

She went on: "He's very respected in the industry. I know I'll learn loads from him. He's also a really nice bloke and up for a laugh - it'll be like working with a big brother."

I heard her a couple of times when she was standing in for Steve Penk and, once she'd got over her initial nerves, she was great - very natural and chatty. Good luck to her. :hello:
