Marc 22-03-2013 11:48 PM

Yep.

I took about 40 newspapers from work today, since they don't recycle and I intend to recycle them tomorrow . I did good.

Roy Mars III 22-03-2013 11:50 PM

Good, this is one of the major requirements we look for in a Moderator.

Jake. 23-03-2013 12:08 AM

Niamh. 23-03-2013 12:08 AM

Jake. 23-03-2013 12:14 AM

my mum attempts to, but she says that you shouldn't put bottle caps in the recycling incase it gets stuck in the bin mans bin bag rubbish-destroyer thing and pings off and hits them

Roy Mars III 23-03-2013 12:54 AM

is it true that you're not suppose to recycle stuff that comes in contract with food(like pizza boxes). Someone told me that, but not sure if they are right?

Can I recycle soiled paper?

Paper fibres cannot be recycled if they are contaminated with food. Here are a few tips:
•Put greasy wrappers into your compost/main rubbish.
•Tear out contaminated portions (e.g. a cheesy pizza box lid), and recycle the clean remainder.
•Use tissues as compost, as heir dense fibres make them unsuitable for paper recycling.
But different areas have slightly different rules - check with your local council ..... ;)

GypsyGoth 23-03-2013 01:03 AM

Yea give it all to the recyclers and let them keep what they want.

Well, that's better than throwing it in someone's garden ..... :joker:

Jack_ 23-03-2013 01:23 AM

No (but my parents do - we don't have a choice in the matter anyway although they like doing it), and I don't think people should be forced into doing it either.

swinearefine 23-03-2013 01:28 AM

Yeah, and I've really been cracking the whip on my parents to get their acts together as well, making them recycle bring reusable shopping bags to go grocery shopping, but they never bring them unless i physically hand them the bags, bless them.

Ammi 23-03-2013 04:12 AM

..yeah, I recycle and cycle..I haven't tried unicycling yet though...

AnnieK 23-03-2013 05:02 AM

Yes....the only problem is we have about 78977892 bins lined up, for bottles, plastic, garden, paper and normal rubbish...

Ammi 23-03-2013 05:29 AM

..we don't get to recycle seperately here Annie..I've always thought that was a bit silly..we have one recycle bin for everything and another for the other stuff..the we have a garden waste one but that's optional and you have to pay for it...

Well, that's a first, us northerners having a more efficient system...LOL

Ammi 23-03-2013 05:47 AM

..yeah, I've always thought it was silly that they didn't have a National recycling system instead of everyone doing it differently and that doesn't help to people getting confused about what they should be recycling...
