Niamh. 27-03-2013 10:25 AM

hhhmmm Independence Day 2, I don't know if I like the sound of that

Marc 27-03-2013 10:26 AM

Surely the US and the World would have thought of ways of how to deal with a possible second attack :idc:

So unrealistic

Patrick 27-03-2013 11:35 AM

Independence Days then..

the truth 27-03-2013 12:08 PM

we havent even got a plan to shoot down asteroids and meteors, so what chance have we got if the aliens arrive in monster space ships impervious to nuclear bombs?

Shaun 27-03-2013 12:13 PM

the sequel nobody wanted

i think millions will disagree with you, this will make a fortune

They nearly destroyed us last time and lost because they didn't have AVAST installed. I'm sure a species capable of traveliing across space and devastating us, could reprogram their systems to make sure this never happens again. In reality, this would be more of a short film.

Ammi 27-03-2013 12:20 PM

..I loved the first one..it's one of my guilty pleasures...

the millions who'd have just been brainwashed into seeing any other blockbuster released that weekend maybe, whether they are capable of wanting specific elements of culture is debatable

I would end up seeing it most likely because my son likes them kind of films

Iceman 27-03-2013 12:30 PM

Jesus. 27-03-2013 12:31 PM

I blame the parents. :idc:

BBfanUSA 27-03-2013 12:34 PM

Why Can't it be a remake instead?

InOne 27-03-2013 12:35 PM

Had the original on VHS.

Never watched it...

Marc 27-03-2013 12:43 PM

Because anyone with a few braincells can tell you, that that would do more harm than good.

Glenn. 27-03-2013 02:18 PM

I don't really understand the need for a sequel. The first one was ok but it's sort of a one film story. Can't Hollywood think of anything else?

Roy Mars III 27-03-2013 02:24 PM

so they're going to make 2 sequels according to the article.

Back in 2011, according to reports, Will Smith was asking for $50m to do both movies, so I'm not surprised they've said no to it.

Roy Mars III 27-03-2013 03:54 PM

Will Smith is terrible anyway

Tom4784 27-03-2013 04:07 PM

The first one was terrible, every time I think of it I think of the awful World War 2 esque english pilots. It was just a horrible film and the sequel will be no different.
