The Umbrella hitmaker came top in a list by U.K. channel 4Music following an analysis of social media activity, airplay and press coverage, while the Crazy In Love hitmaker is in second place.
Boy band One Direction bagged third, Perry lands at number four, and Justin Bieber rounds out the top five.

If she's influential then so is Jimmy Saville.

Social media activity, airplay and press coverage?

So the dumb tweets, Chris Brown nonsense and releasing an increasingly poorer album every year, not to mention lending her voice to any rapper going, didn't help then.

lololol.

Saph 30-03-2013 08:48 AM

Well done Rih, much deserved :')

Ninastar 30-03-2013 08:51 AM

She's a terrible role model for any young girl. She acts like she's from The Bronx or something :idc:

Basic predictable arguments by basic minded people. Girls who are 11-14 are extremely unlikely to experience domestic violence from their so called 'partner' (the official government domestic violence definition doesn't even take girls that age into account) and are unlikely to even know about the whole case which happened 4 years ago.

Girls who look up to Rihanna that are 15, 16, 17 wouldn't let their boyfriends continually abuse them because a) that wasn't even the case, she got away from Chris and got back with him 4 years later after, and he hasn't shown any signs that he'd do it again (it's extremely unlikely too since he's in the public eye), and b) only a ****ing ****** in need of medical help would let themselves suffer because their idol did if they were that age, and if you think that's true you need medical help as well

People will probably get annoyed that I keep saying stuff like this, believe me I do too. But what am I supposed to do if basic minded people have basic spans of memory/ignore posts like these and continue to be basic, not even realising how serious these type of accusations are.

InOne 30-03-2013 01:54 PM

I don't make thread after thread and shove him into peoples faces. I'm hardly obsessed. You knew nobody would like this thread so you were only looking for a reaction anyway. Nobody gives a **** about Rihanna on here, stick to the fan thread.

Me. I Am Salman 30-03-2013 01:58 PM

It's not a Rihanna thread, it's a thread about Britain's most influential popstar which is news that's quite significant enough to be put in the music section. If it was anybody else I would have posted the same thread. Not my fault it's always Rihanna topping things :pat:

InOne 30-03-2013 01:59 PM

Bollocks...

Brother Leon 30-03-2013 02:03 PM

InOne 30-03-2013 02:19 PM

I'm not mad, and isn't that a GaGa smiley? Where's your Rihanna one? Surely that would've had more of an effect...

rofl I'm sorry, you can like her, like her music or whatever, but she's not influential in any way.

armand.kay 30-03-2013 08:28 PM

:worship: people on here seem to think domestic violence is the only thing she's associated with

Redway 30-03-2013 08:47 PM

I suppose it depends if the sample is nationally representative or simply biased newspaper bullshit.

Although to be fair, the OP does say 'most influential', not anything else. No need for any of that other nonsense to get a mention as it has nothing to do with this thread...

lbr, the only reason rihanna is as big as she is now/the only reason she'll be remembered is the impact Chris Brown had on her face :idc:
