Hypothetical situation #2
Getting carried away with these now I think. And this is really morbid too. But here we go.
You are waiting for a train. There is a young couple waiting for the same train with their 5 year old child. The child is running around next to the track. The parents dont seem to notice, they are too busy talking between themselves. The child falls onto the track, right when the train is about to come into the tunnel. You might have enough time to jump down and help them back up, then get up yourself too, but you do not know for sure. You definitely have enough time to get the child off the track though, however by doing so, you might get knocked down yourself. Its a split second thing. You do not have time to alert the parents and wait for them to act.. What do you do? |
I'd have probably said something before the child fell :pipe:
|
Thats not an option :idc:
They only started ruinning around a second or so before falling. |
Is there a financial reward involved with this one? :pipe:
|
I'd have to try to save them - I would want someone to do the same if it was my child (not that I wouldn't be keeping a close eye on mine near train tracks).. The only thing that would in any way stop me is if I had my child with me and that would put him in any kind of danger.
Although - like Smithy has just said, I would have to say to keep an eye on their child before he fell. |

Act bliddy quick!

I'd like to think I'd go to save the child but I think in that kind of a situation it's more of a reaction than a conscious choice so I couldn't say for sure unless it happened
|
I'd like to think that I would help the child, but until it really happened in front of me, it'd be hard to imagine risking death for someone else's kid.
|
I'd save the kid then push the kids parents on the track for being such bloody idiots
|
Again, its really hard to say. before I had my child, I would have saved the child..no doubts about it. However now, I cant imagine leaving my baby without a mother. At the same time I do not think I could physically watch a child die when I could have saved them.
I am going to sound like a evil cow here, but I dont think I would risk my life for someone else when I have a child at home. So I'm inclined to say I would alert the parents, even though there was nothing much they could do at that point. |

I scream at the parents to go and save the child. I'd want to do it myself but there's no way I could.

I think this is what I would do to, not sure though. |
I'd like to think I'd instinctively go over and move her away from the edge if she was running around all over the place so she didn't fall to begin with.
Although even then I'd probably have the parent accuse me of grooming the child. Lol. That happened to my dad who helped a little girl who was stuck on a slide, her dad stormed over screaming "don't touch my daughter". You can't win. |
Dunno, in these kind of situations 9/10 times I'd probably just freeze and not really realise what had happened. I'd alert the parents as soon as I saw it most likely as there would be an more instinctive reaction.
|
It would be one of those fight or flight situations, I really hope to god I would react, it was my first instinct on reading this so?
|
Call the child and lift them up off the track.
|
help the child
|
Ring childline and dobb these stupid parents in !!
|
Save the child.
|
Realistically i'd probably freeze up and not be able to do anything

I don't think I'd ever jump onto a train track, unless it was a friend or relative of mine. |
Very weird because something similar happened to me before. I was at the station with my family and this little boy was running around, and was extremely near the edge. His leg was almost hanging off the side. My family didn't notice, but I did and watched for a bit. I couldn't just watch knowing that something could've happened in the time that I was just staring. So I shouted over to the parents to tell them, and thankfully they took the boy away. They didn't thank me or anything, they looked quite angry if anything which made no sense haha. But if the child was actually on the track, I would do the same and shout for the parents... I couldn't risk my own life for a child who has nothing to do with me.
