N. Korean missile launchpad moved into firing position

Quote:

A North Korean missile launcher has moved into the firing position with rockets facing skyward, Kyodo reports, citing a Japan defense official.

The Japanese government is on high alert, citing indications that Pyongyang might soon launch ballistic missiles at its island neighbor.

Defense Minister Itsunori Onodera said Thursday morning that so far Tokyo was responding by “gathering a variety of information ... with a sense of tension,” according to Kyodo.

North Korea is terrifying. I really think we're going to wake up with the world at war any day now.

I think the powers that be have said time's up re North Korea. I think US/South Korea and China realise the current status quo cannot continue especially in light of NK's claim to restart their mothballed nuclear plant in the very near future. It looks increasing like the present situation to some extent has been secretly manipulated to get NK to the point it is at now with a view to some major confrontation in order to force NK's hand.

As unpalatable as it sounds I think the world is tired of trying to negotiate with this barmy regime and now realises a different approach is required.

I only hope whetever transpires in the next few months is short and sharp and does not cause to much suffering to innocent people. but knowing it is far harder to stop a conflict once it has begun I fear the worst.....!!!!

I'm reading on the news now that a leaked US intelligence report is saying NK has now been able to fit nuclear warheads to their Ballistic missiles. This is Iraqi leaked dossiers all over again, this is scare the crap out of the US public. Reinforce public perception that NK is going to attack the US then when they test fire one of their non nuclear missiles , it can be shot down immediately provoking retaliation from NK which in turn precipitates massive retaliation from the US and S. Korea.

This has been on the cards for some time and now we are seeing the final moves in this build up prior to major action...!!!

I read something on a news site about them supposedly going to be launching 5 missiles, that doesn't sound like a test to me.

I will try find the link for the article I read earlier.

It'll be the quickest war ever if they go ahead, they just don't have the funds or allies to upset America.

North Korea has removed two medium-range missiles from a launch site on the east coast, indicating a lowering of tension on the peninsula, a US official said.

Pyongyang reportedly made preparations for a missile launch last month.

It had threatened attacks on specific targets on South Korea, Japan and US bases in the region.

The threats followed tough new UN sanctions imposed on North Korea in March after its third nuclear test.

Pyongyang has also been angered by wide-ranging annual US-South Korea military drills, which were completed a week ago.

The US flew nuclear-capable B2 and B52 bombers over the South as part of the drill, and deployed warships with missile defence systems to the region.

A new series of joint anti-submarine drills began on Sunday and will last until Friday, South Korea's Yonhap news agency reports.
