should it be compulsorily to carry donor cards ?
should it be compulsorily to carry donor cards 11.04.13
when i am taken, of-course there will be a shiver, but gone will be my bacon, i hope thriving in someone is my liver. the battle i am fighting, is the contract and the legality, because this is not inviting, a "no good" gesture is the reality. to disobey a wish, really is low, it is a insult dish, and so shallow. we need to alter, show and share and give your heart, except life is now no running water, but for someone you will give a new start. where you are heading, pain free is the lift, in-hailing wont leave your lungs shredding, donating them would be a beautiful gift. i have to end, the reason for this poem needs to be identified, no one could possibly not defend, and just like your "kidneys" you will be purified. to the reader i thank, yes i am this poem owner, i am going to forward this to the N-H-S, and i hope they get a influx of the donor. ( if you want to do a lovely thing in life - please give the gift of life to someone most in need. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-22086086 - this is a link to what i am talking about.) |
No, it has to be your choice......!!!

I would be in favour of an opt out system. Rather than the current opt in.
I am a donor. I lost my card though, but apparently theres a database of it all. They can have everything except my eyes I said. Even if I am dead...the thought of them messing around with my eyeballs is horrid  |

It's morbid but I have a comical image of your funeral. |
I voted no, mainly because I don't like telling other people what they should do as to this.
I am a donor and if anyone asked me if I thought it was right to be a donor I would say yes, however to make it that all should be whether they want to be or not, then no. |
but just the way of it happening is what frustrates me - surely its better to have opt out system as allot of people can not be bothered to opt in even if thats what they want to do.

If you get an organ donation, and you are an organ donor, will they give the same organ to another person when you die? I wonder if for instance one liver could be in 3 different people.
Say you get a liver transplant, then 2 years later you get hit by a bus, would they put the liver into a 3rd person? |

I agree with Vicky about having an Opt out system rather than an Opt in, I think if you don't want to be a donor you're more likely to Opt yourself out but alot of people probably would be ok with donating but just couldn't be bothered Opting in
|
Thing thing is knowing me, if I didn't want to be opted in I'd probably forget to opt out
|
Im not sure if it's opt in or opt out in the US, i know they put it on your drivers license, when you get your drivers license they ask you. I'm not sure what happens if you leave it blank though. I agree that an opt-out system would be best.

I really don't understand why people wouldn't want to donate. Obviously it's completely each persons choice but I can't understand why people would rather their organs rot away and become worm food when they could have saved peoples lives |

I'm not sure if it still works this way but I know that the next of kin used to get the ultimate decision in donation so iit is very important to discuss your wishes with your nearest and dearest. Some people find it too difficult to think about when they lose a loved one and there is such a small time window when the organs are viable that it is really important. I carry a card, its on my driver's licence and they could take anything they wanted from me.
|
I get that it's a person's choice but it takes a pretty selfish and callous person to refuse to donate their organs. Hardly like you'll be needing them.

Obviously I respect others views but it is a thought provoking topic especially when something so important to saving lives generally gets thrown into a furnace. |

I prefer the 'opt out' idea too, it would literally save 1000's of lives the system of donation being simplified, I don't know why it hasn't been done already...
|
The opt out choice is clever, I agree with it.
|
No ..... Opt-Out
