This thread should be fun :p

David Dimbleby presents live coverage of the funeral service for Lady Thatcher, with the ceremony taking place at St Paul's Cathedral following a procession from Westminster. The service will be attended by the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh, the Thatcher family and leading politicians from the main parties including the current PM David Cameron. 12:15pm. The highlights are at 7-8pm on BBC Two. If you can consider footage from a funeral to be highlights.

Hightlights of a funeral, whatever next D:

GOAL by Margaret Thatcher, that sure was a cool finish outside of Trafalgar square, now we know why Chelsea paid 14m for the striker

@OwenJones84:
"We are all Thatcherites now," says David Cameron at the start of the most expensive political broadcast in history. Speak for yourself mate

Is Cameron for real? As I have said numerous times over the last few days, this is nothing but a celebration of Thatcherism. What a total farce

Marc 17-04-2013 07:49 AM

Might flick over

Right again, I could almost believe he has enjoyed near hijacking this funeral. The way he has actually gone on as to it is one of the most sickening aspects of the whole thing.
He isn't that daft though, he knows that she acheived 3 times what he will never achieve once, election victories with overall majorities and over 40% of the vote each time.

Maybe he possibly hoped for memories of past glories, for want of a better word to possibly lift his own fortunes politically.

As you now say too, the whole thing has become a farce.

Not when it's his job.

I'm not even at home so won't be watching much (if at all), but you'd have to be pretty blind to have missed the over the top fawning over her from parliament over the last week. Do you seriously think it's acceptable for David Cameron to say 'we're all Thatcherites now' when many, many people quite rightly detest the ideology and want rid of it? They are fuelling the fire of demonstrators and it's not on.

Just saw Terry Wogan interviewed on the Beeb, the guy interviewing asked him how he felt to be invited to the Wedding...oh dear the trials of live TV. Interestingly she is the only PM to have appeared on Children in Need so credit where credit is due I guess.

Well he's wrong isn't he. We're not. There done. No need to go on about it like he's gone and killed your whole family

What was his response?

There was a fraction of a second before the interviewer realised his mistake, and corrected himself, it all turned rather more awkward when Terry said he was stunned to be invited, worth a watch if you can find it anywhere.

Wonder if Terry was a Thatcherite? I'd like to think as an Irishman he hated her guts.

He is with David Dimbleby now, not sure his answers to the questions asked are going down too well. He more or less said he is representing the rabble.

What a disgraceful day. I refuse to watch the funeral out of principle, but the whole thing still leaves a very bad taste in my mouth. In this current financial climate, to spen millions of pounds on this circus is nothing short of sinful.

Cherie 17-04-2013 09:06 AM

I kinda can't help myself, I have it on as I want to see how many people line the route etc, doubt I will be able to stick 3 hours of it though.

Totally agree about the money spent.

Marc 17-04-2013 09:09 AM

The whole thing is moving

What a ****ing knob.

I cant see anything interesting happening because of how tight security is. Funerals are boring enough to begin with so I dont feel the need to watch really. might watch the highlights if someone dos happen to get there with a paintball gun or something (not that I agree with it..would just make it more..interesting  )

Marc 17-04-2013 09:11 AM

Would somebody ruining the funeral be interesting?
