Sticky threads in General Chat

I know this is a sensitive topic, but there are an awful lot of threads stickied in Chat and Games and I was thinking perhaps the time has come to unsticky some of the rest in peace threads which haven't been posted in since 2011... Obviously it's not an issue having them there, but I'm not sure any of the current active members aside from Sticks, lily, Princess and I were around to even know who Romantic Old Bird is, for example, and there are an awful lot of threads stickied now.

General Chat, even... not Chat and Games.

Roy Mars III 18-04-2013 12:24 AM

I agree

Z 18-04-2013 12:26 AM

No disrespect intended at all, it's just that ROB passed away in 2008 and Angie passed away in 2009, it's been a long time since their passing...

Smithy 18-04-2013 12:27 AM

Used to be like this in C&G there's loads

King Gizzard 18-04-2013 12:27 AM

I quite liked bobnot's idea having a section for the threads, but I can't find the thread

Smithy 18-04-2013 12:28 AM

There should be like a sub forum for members that have passed away

Scarlett. 18-04-2013 12:28 AM

I agree with Zee, a sufficient amount of time has passed.

Glenn. 18-04-2013 12:28 AM

I agree.

Locke. 18-04-2013 12:33 AM

You make me sick

You unimaginable bastard

doesn't really bother me either way, but maybe a section would be nice. For reminiscing and so on, without taking over the general chat section. I'm trying to think of a Big Brother metaphor for the departed but "Evicted Members" doesn't really sound nice

The sub forum idea is great

I cant find it either but it was along the lines of a memorial section of the board.
A place for the threads of members that have passed away almost like a tibb remembrance garden.

Yeah same here, I think we should do that, it would be awful to just unsticky them and let them disappear :(

Z 18-04-2013 04:03 PM

Yeah maybe a sub forum would be the best idea, as morbid as it is, there have been quite a few unexpected losses of wonderful forum members and I agree, it would be a shame for the threads to disappear once they've been unstickied, so perhaps a sub forum in General Chat?

Yeah, we've asked James about it, so hopefully that will happen

Z 18-04-2013 04:05 PM

That's good, hopefully something will happen soon!
