Our most successful olympian of all time today hung up his saddle for good..........after 11 world championship gold medals and 6 olympic gold medals amongst a whole load of other honours, medals, awards and titles.

whats more he seems like a gentleman, always seems polite and enthusiastic every time Ive seen him..........he clearly cares about his sport and when asked his greatest joy, he said it was simply the improvement in british cycling

he will continue his off the track coaching and promotion and probably tv work too........a massive part in one of britains greatest ever sporting summers......what else is there to doo but stand and applaud the big man
