X Factor: JLS' Aston and Marvin 'battling for Xtra Factor role'
 

JLS stars Aston Merrygold and Marvin Humes are reportedly both in the running to host the Xtra Factor this year.


A new co-host for the X Factor spin-off is needed for Caroline Flack after Olly Murs confirmed he would not be back for a third series.

Olly said this month: “It’s going to be a shame not to do The Xtra Factor again. I’m gutted because it’s been a huge part of my life for the last two years.

“But I think whoever Caroline decides to pick, whoever the bosses decide to pick to replace me is going to be great. I don’t know if she would do it on her own.”

Following JLS’ split this week, stars of the band Aston and Marvin have both been linked to the role.

Aston already has plenty of telly experience, currently a judge on Sky1 series Got To Dance, so would appear to have the upper hand, although sources claim it’ll be Caroline’s decision as to who joins her!

The news follows reports that Rylan Clark has been ruled out of the show after signing a deal to host Big Brother 2013 spin off, Bit On The Side.

A source told the The Sun newspaper today: “We love Rylan and after he won Celebrity Big Brother it seemed daft not to get him on board. ”

Auditions for The X Factor 2013 continue this weekend in Manchester.

Caroline will pick Aston.

I'd prefer if the two of them did XTRA Factor and Flack got the push.,

Marvin please cos he's married. Though I think Caroline could do it fine by herself. No-one will ever be good as Olly anyway.

Give it to the whole group. The least the greatest act from the show deserves.

I reckon they'd give it to Aston, he's the more obvious solo star of the group and I think it would mutually benefit the show and him to put him in that role. He'd promote his solo stuff on the X Factor and they get the most popular member from their most popular alumnus.
